I want to swap a sprite's color palette, but I can't find a way to do it in paint.net and I don't want any plugins. If it's impossible without plugins, don't recommend a plugin anyway. I'm not using any. Paranoid of malware

I mean, will putting them back before I download paint.net effect the transparency? MS Paint cant open transparent files normally, and I'm just worried the files will turn all transparency white and ruin my images

While youre still here, if I put them back on my PC before I install paint.net will the transparency still be there when I install it again?

Yeah I kinda need a quick answer here. My dad's friend is going to help back my computer files up and I want to know for sure if they can be backed up with an external hard drive.
