Semi-Transparent Pixels Causing Issues
racerx replied to senrisei's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
You can use Alt2LayerSaver plugin to export your layers as 32-bit PNGs with full quality. Better than reducing quality using 255 colors.... -
Semi-Transparent Pixels Causing Issues
racerx replied to senrisei's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
I use Irfanview all the time as an image viewer. It often gets the alpha channel wrong. My version is old and doesn't support .pdn, but I understand your problem. Don't use Irfanview for conversion. -
Discussion: Your Windows 10 upgrade plans?
racerx replied to Rick Brewster's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
Earlier this week, I installed Win10 on my editing Desktop. It worked out well after I tweaked the snot out of it, so I decided to install it on my LapTop. I originally was worried because I dual-boot Linux/Windows on it and was afraid it would hose my system and would have to go back and rebuild. I was pleasantly surprised that the dual-boot held intact, great......! However, it is extremely slow and sluggish (compared to Win7) out of the box. So I tweaked the snot out of it by eliminating many of the useless process running in the background with the help of O&O ShutUp10. It works great and makes Win10 much more pleasant. I disabled all recommended settings. -
Altering an Anti-Aliased Image's Color
racerx replied to Helioxx's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
Eli has an excellent idea for recoloring a colored image. That's what I did with my Sig plane. I originally made the plane in Blue, but changed it to red via "Hue/Saturation" filter. Alternatively you can play with the "Tolerance" value in the Paint Bucket tool...... -
Excellent work Pixey, you certainly have a knack for jewelry and portraits.

Lots of winners around here, so I made a trophy shape and a couple of smileys. I updated my shapes.zip in the 1st post with the new shapes.....

Yeah but the knob graphic is cool, it gives it that analog feel............. -

I like the knob the way it is, it's so purrrrty..... -
Great effect, much better than the one built-in to PDN. You really should zip your files instead of leaving open xxx.dll's on a server somewhere, it's a bit unsettling to download them like that.... Here is another cool one. It looks almost frozen.....

TR's Paste Frame V 1.3.10+ - custom frame maker
racerx replied to TechnoRobbo's topic in Plugins - Publishing ONLY!
Actually I had to sew a tare in one of my leather jackets yesterday, but I had to use a needle.... This is the first time I've seen this plugin. It's a great way to add a border to an image. -
Thanks, I just deleted a bunch of old files and I posted my Shapes pack zip file in the 1st post of this thread.

This site wont let me upload a zip file or any other format for that mater.... I would have to post that zip file on another site and link to that post on this site. I really don't want to do that too often for obvious reasons. It's a shame really, but thus is the reality...........

This site won't allow me to post files directly, so you'll have to select all text in my "Quote Box", copy(Ctrl+C), open NotePad and paste(Ctrl+V), then save as WaterLilly.xaml. Now copy the "WaterLilly.xaml" into your PDN shapes folder, usually "C:\Program Files\paint.net\Shapes". Restart Paint.net and your WaterLilly shape should show up in the shapes list. You can also edit the shape to your hearts content and re-save if you'd like.....

Can I Resize Images in Bulk?
racerx replied to davidshq's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
I don't know how to do batch resize in Paint.net. I would recommend FastStone Viewer (free) to do batch processing of images. Very easy to use and efficient..... -
Wow this one was a tough. It will be the last request I'll do. It doesn't have properly closed lines, so you'll have to color it manually... WaterLilly shape:

Thanks Red and TR. Since it's Football Season, I made a shape of my team's logo. Go Pats!!!! N.E. Patriots logo shape:

I would recommend Grid Warp for this. It's very flexible....... Example:

I was hoping more people would contribute their custom shapes, oh well... Here is a cool and accurate Super Man Crest Logo if anyone wants it. Super Man

That's a great looking sig Pixey, well done...... Animated GIFs are no easy task, I often cheat and use a Video Editor/Composer to create the new frames because it is so much faster.
-
That's funny, it works perfectly well here in PDN 4.0.6 on Win8.1 x64. All layers are intact with full transparency and so on when opened after renaming to .agif.....

Plugin for Eyeglass Glare?
racerx replied to Markie Madden's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
I would try TR's Dodge and Burn tool and use the burn tool to darken the glare. http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/32126-trs-dodge-and-burn-blur-and-sharpensept-3-2015/ -
OK, I've run out of ideas so this is the last one. It's a gun sight cross hairs. It should prove useful for the video editors out there. Create the shape on a transparent layer and save as a 32-bit PNG for easy overlay on your video track. GunSight: Enjoy.....

Here is a simple Arrow shape.
