Does this effect only work in 4.05 ? I'm still using the old version and cannot find this effect after downloading. It's such a cool effect and I'd really like to use it in a current project I'm working on.

SHE LIVES !!! I finally got it working. For some reason when I extracted the dll and shim from 1.0.5.5 and opted to replace all files, it didn't. I had a folder in effects labelled PSFilterPdn but I was denied access to open it to get the dll and shim out. I moved that folder to the desktop to get it out of the way and then extracted the files from the zip again and IT WORKS !!! Thanks ever so much for your time and attention to this issue. You're the best!

Thanks very much. I've sent the new error message to you. Right now, the only 8bf filter in this plugin is Craquelure3d.

I pulled each 8bf out and stuck them in a desktop folder. Each time I tried the 8bf plugin. I even tried it with no filters in it. Each time I got - The array bounds are invalid (Exception from HRESULT : 0x800706C6). The folder load progress shows 1 of 1 loaded. As earlier I'm no longer getting crashes or hangs.

Yes, the 8bf filters are all in Effects. I just tried again but no dice. Same result as my previous post.

It occurs when I try to open the PSFilterPdn. It won't even load the 8bf's. This last time I tried, the system crashed instead of just hanging. Thanks so much for having a look at this. As I said, before today, I never had any problems with it.

Well, I downloaded the DSP Toolbox to the main Paint.NET directory. I then downloaded 1.4 to Effects and still nothing. Graham, can you please confirm whether this effect will only work in Pdn4+ ? Thanks for your assistance John and Scott - I do appreciate it.

I was wondering the same thing, that it won't work on 3.5.11. I too have the .dll in the effects folder but it doesn't show up and I can't find it with 'Plugin Browser' either. They are not in a submenu under Effects and they didn't fall on the floor and roll under my computer desk because I looked there. However, I did find my 64GB memory stick there.

I cannot find this effect after I download and extract to C:\Program Files\Paint.NET\Effects. Reading the documentation shows the following - "Ensure that the DLL file has been unblocked (right click, properties, unblock)". However, when I right click on the DLL Properties, there is no option to unblock. What am I doing wrong?
