I guess I did. But that answer didn't work -- that changes ALL folder & files icons. I just want the photos to show as previews.

I want the jpg file names to show the photo as a "large icon" without changing the windows folder default -- I want to keep the folders as lists and photos only. My videos show this preview but paint.net doesn't so I think the setting is in the program, not the system itself.

Thanks, I'll give that a try. The photos are in folders and subfolders (and sub subfolders) but are generally numbered and can't easily be given descriptive names.

I've read the FAQs and searched this topic in the forum, so please excuse me if I missed it. I formerly used a photo editor that showed a preview of the photo when you clicked on the file before opening it. I look through the tabs and didn't see anything like this. It saved me lots of time before when I was looking for a particular photo and couldn't remember its name (yes, I have that many photos, over 12,000). Thanks.
