  1. Ok I did what you said as best I understand. I did two states as a test and saved it as a pdn. I reopened the pdn. So what I have is: an image that looks like the original map (that's good). In the layers "report window" there are 3 layers Background, Layer 2, and Layer3. Unchecking layer2 or layer3 I don't see any difference but unchecking background i now see the two layers representing the states as all white and the rest of the background is now a checkerboard pattern (the base native "no layer" background). Now unchecking layer 2 or 3 they are obviously the layers for the two states I saved. i then tried to save the whole thing as a png but paint.net siad it would "flatten it" and indeed the saved png is all one image. So let's just work with the two sates...what do I do to acheive separate image files for each state? thanks so much...
  2. I was hoping there was a way to keep the state images "locked"/fixed in place like the original map. But you're saying just manually reconstruct it with the new images. Which would work OK for my purposesIi guess. Thanks
  3. Hi, Is there a way with the "fuzzy" magic wand selection ( eg. selection snaps to different polygons in an image by color along different color borders or pixel "qualities"). And, now with that irregular (usually irregular) selection make that selection a separate image file. But yet that new image will remain intact within it's original (parent) image.? For example get 50 (well 48 if it the continental USA) separate USA state JPEGs out of a well bordered and colored USA map but the whole map keeps it's original only now it's composed of separate JPEGS for each state. Is there a way? I need the map of the USA looking exactly like it should but, each state is a separate image file. Is that possible? Thanks
