  1. Looks interesting. Does this happen only on a special image (if so, what kind?) or on every image and a brand new image too? BTW: You can switch primary and secondary color by clicking on the little double-arrow. What happen, if you deactivate "transparent windows" in the options menu (little gear in the upper right corner)? Changes this anything?
  2. Hint for Clone Stamp: Use a hardness of zero to avoid visible transitions on edges
  3. No. Its a tool in the toolbar looking like a rubber stamp.
  4. So here's my solution, realized by clone tool:
  5. Just for completeness: For that reason online converters exist like this one: https://www.base64-image.de/
  6. Applying text on an image means editing the pixels like every other tool like paintbrush does. If you want edit single letters you have to use a new, transparent layer for the text. Then you can select single letters with magic wand tool and applying your effects. You can also use text as a mask to cut out or "punch" from an underlying image (for example, a gradient or a landscape) parts in the form of letters. some examples:
  7. If you have enough time and patience, you can do it "relatively" easy self like this: Clone the layer with the original image. Use the plugin "Segment Image". Create another layer and draw with the line tool your own polygons. Use the Color Picker with 5x5, 11x11 or more pixels for an average value in the second layer, turn to the polygon layer and fill the corresponding triangle with color. Later if finished you can delete the layers under the polygon-layer.
  8. And look, what happens, if you click on [More >>] ...

  10. My guess: It was a file from the browser cache, so a temporary folder. By closing the browser the folder has probably emptied and therefore your edited picture too.
  11. So talk to us. Describe the error message exactly. Because I also had a problem with .NET framework in the past and was able to solve itself, at least I know for a particular error, how to solve this problem.
  12. Where is the problem? In Color Window (F8-Key to toggle) you see under the "color circle" a standard palette with 32 colors and white is the first in the second row. Just click on it.
  13. Besides it's done I will answer your question. I've collected over the years from different free sources a huge amount of textures and so I used one of these textures as a "grunge effect". In fact its simple an image of an old piece of canvas. To show an image here in the forum just upload it to an image hoster of your choice an paste the given code for boards in your posting.
  14. My very short description: 1. Load a flat, 3-color version of the original flag (maybe from Google Image Search or Wikipedia) an change the colors as you wish 2. Use a plugin for distortion like Wobble to simulate a more fluttering flag 3. Create one or more additional new layers and load to this layers a "grunge texture". Set the Blend mode to "Multiply" oder "Overlay" and change if neccessary the opacity. Eventually repeat in this layer the distortion effect from 2. 4. Merge layer down. Finished. And this is the result of 2 minutes: Grunge Textures you can find here: ShadowhouseCreations Mayangs Free Textures Texturemate Naldzgraphics Textureking
  15. I have two ideas for that problem: 1. Be sure, that you have in the paint.net program directory under FileTypes only ONE FileType-plugin for an specific Filetype like Animated GIF at once, otherwise PDN may have problems by handling this filetype. 2. Close PDN, check it via task manager and run from the program directory PdnRepair.exe and test it again after that.
  16. I suggest, that you realize this effect by applying a half transparent layer with a scratchy photo negative or image of old paper. You find such "Grunge Textures" here: http://shadowhousecreations.blogspot.de/2012/06/shadowhouse-creations-photo-grunge.html
  17. Elis tip works definitely. Maybe you've misunderstood. You have to create a new image or change the existent by size and change in the option window the RESOLUTION (pixel / inch resp. pixel / centimeter) to 100 (standard is 36,80px/cm or 96px/in). Otherwise there's no 1:1 relation between millimeters and Pixels.
  18. You was faster than I I just want edit my posting because I realised that its not accurate enough.
  19. Just zoom in with the zoom-control in the right down corner and then fine tune the size not by mouse-dragging but by using the arrow keys of your keyboard, while holding the pressed left mouse button on the control nub.
  20. I had this problem too ( only window size), but it's running well since version 4.0.8 or so.
  21. Can't believe it. Click under the menu in the options of the selection tool on the pull down menu "normal" → "fixed ratio" → "fixed size" and then put your given numbers for Width and Height and the appropriate unit (pixels, inches, centimeters) and be happy.
  22. Good idea. Here's my input: Switching from one unit to another, especially from inch to centimeter and vice versa should result in a switch of the Sub-units to a usefull value. Centimeters with 8 Sub-units makes no sense.
  23. A little info besides the (solved) main problem): If you have Windows 7 and don't want to upgrade to Windows 10, then you should uninstall the following updates, seen in your screenshot: KB3035583 KB2592664 Other Win10-related Updates, if existing: KB2976978 KB2990214 KB3012973 KB3074677 KB3123862
  25. Many time wasted because lack of that essential information... http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/16397-repair-install-windows-10-place-upgrade.html
