I want the multiply effect though.

Hi everyone, I know it may seem like I am asking silly questions but I am trying to learn. I added and multiplied a layer to my background in order to change the colour of my background. I want to add another layer which is white and when I multiply it on to my now coloured background, the white does not show. If you could help me find a way to keep the white of the new layer while still having the multiply effect that would be great. Thanks for your help.

How do I magic wand the image within the lines if my new layer is ontop of the lines

I cant cut out the background because it might have already been deleted. But then I don't know why my layers are going ontop.

Hi, I am trying to figure out how to layer an image onto a certain area of my background. My background is an instrument surrounded by black. I am trying to layer another image onto this background with multiply. When I do this parts of my layer go onto the black in the background when I only want them on my instrument. I don't know how to make sure a layer only goes onto a certain area of my background. Please help. I am trying to get an image like this. Where the layers are limited to a certain area on the background.
