  1. Thanks for the link to some plugin creators. Since I'm new to this forum, what a great resourse to maybe help with my 4.0 struggle. I'll experiment with some of the plugins and share results accordingly. Thanks again.
  2. Havn't done a thing with this... yet. But the plugins sure look promising. May I divulge a bit? I start with a "Thank you." I use the PaintDotNet as a picture editor. I edit "most" of my photos, mainly 'cuz I'm an older guy and I want to leave my legacy in pictures. I also put words in my pics. It's become my "full time" pasttime... but will last for many generations. These said, people like you, and your "fun" and helpful programs, and Rick's great work, is bringing tears of joy to lots of people. I do my pics for people who have lost loved ones, people who are terminally ill, and for lots of others who love life. So... saying nothing and saying lots at the same time, a hearty "Thanks". I'll post more as I toy with some of your (and other's) great-looking plugins. -phil
  3. Many apologies for waiting so long to start supporting you. I upgraded to 4.0 and then donated... mainly because I've become accustomed to using your program. But, back to topic. First, 4.0 seems not ready for production... it has many things that happen on screen that a programmer might leave in to provide feedback when coding the product (blanking out screens, status feedback messages about what the code is doing, etc.). Was the product really ready for production? (No need to answer... perhaps the next update will take care of these things). As for the freeform tool. It is a mainstay for me. I've learned to depend on it for so much of my editing that not having it is becoming a "deal breaker" for me unless I can manufacture a workaround. Let's say I took a picture of a sign, like a placard or something. The picture might not have even sides. I use the freeform tool to, say, quickly "green out" all four sides and save it. In the future, I can call up the picture of the sign, select the background, invert the selection, and I get my sign to cut and paste into another picture. In carving out a shape within a picture, like someone's head, I may use the line tool to draw a green line around the shape. But then I want to green out the rest of the picture. I use the free form tool with the green and go around the head. After saving, I can use the head in the future as in the last paragraph. I'm trying to make 4.0 work for me, but it's a real shocker to lose this tool. I'll keep reading some forum topics to see if someone has worked around this. Thanks. -phil
