  1. If you choose option 2 or 3 instead of 1, you'll still have the problem with pictures you started on before version 4.
  2. Have you tried to switch from Antialised selection quality to Pixelated selection quality? It's a new feature.
  3. Here is how brush width works with Antialising Disabled in 4.0: Brush width 1: Brush is 1 pixel Brush width 2: Brush is a 2 x 2 pixel square. Brush width 3: Same as brush width 2 Brush width 4: Brush is a 4 x 4 pixel square minus the four corner pixels. Brush width 5: Brush is a 4 x 4 pixel square Brush width 6: Brush is a 6 x 6 pixel square, minus the four corner pixels Brush width 7: Same as brush width 6 Brush width 8: Brush is a “circle” that is 8 pixels wide Brush width 9: Brush is a 8 x 8 pixel square, minus the four corner pixels Brush width 10: Brush is a “circle” that is 10 pixels wide Brush width 11: Brush is different “circle” that is 10 pixels wide So it is impossible to draw with a brush that is 3, 5, 7, 9 or 11 pixels wide. And there are two identical brushes. Not sure if these issues are bugs, but it is unfortunate.
  4. It seems that the Paintbrush in version 4.0 draws straighter and more angular than before. I use Brush Width 5 and have Antialiasing Disabled. I wiggle my stylus around in a tiny area. In the old version this would produce a vaguely circular dot, like I intended. In the new version it tends to produce a square or rectangle or something pretty close to that. Not that it is impossible to make a vaguely circular dot, but it is harder. The new version seems more inclined to make straight lines than the old version. Is there anything I can do to make it behave like the old version?
  5. I have a problem with version 4.0 that was not in the previous version. When I click on a new layer the new layer is transparent. The Value of this transparent color is 100. If I have a layer that is completely white and I delete all the white, the layer becomes transparent. The Value of this transparent color is 0. So say I have two transparent layers A and B. A has Value 0 and B has Value 100. I draw a man in layer A. I use Rectangle select to make a rectangle around the man. I cut him out of layer A and paste him into layer B. Now I decide I want to color layer B green, except for the man. I use the paint bucket to color layer B. Layer B turns green, except for a rectangle around the man, which remain transparent. The previous version of paint did not react this way. I believe it treated both kinds of transparent as the same? I believe it is a bug.
