  1. For those who have downloaded Photoshop plugins/filters from Filters Factory and/or Two Moon ( also those from somewhere else )...

Any of you experiencing this kind of experience ? I mean a prompt box with a message popped out when you ran the plugin/filters. Telling something like this :

" The specified module could not be found ( Exception from HResults :0X8007007E)"

And your plugins/filters can't work or you have to shut down Paint.Net.

If you are, here are the steps of solution which I got from Null54 himself :

    1. Download MSVCRT10.dll from The Plugin Site

    2. Put that file on Paint.NET Effects folder.

    3. Re-run PSFilterPDN again and re-run the specified plugins/filters. In my case, my Paint.NET requires no restarting.

The specified dll file needed is a mandatory for running all filters by Filters Factory.

Thanks Null54 for providing this simple but powerful solution.

    Cheerio !

  2. Hello Nai. :)

I haven't heard of Ambrosia before, but I did an internet search for a photoshop ambrosia, and I found this :

    http://www.123creative.com/photo-actions-atn-text-effects-for-photoshop/711-4-photoshop-actions-set-ambrosia-celia-pamela-and-querida.html

So now I want to ask you,

Are you looking for how to make blended colors as TR demonstrated?

Or are you looking for a vintage coloring photo effect?

    Thanks Cc4FuzzyHuggles !

I am looking for an alternative of making blended colours, specifically ambrosia effects, without depending on Photoshop-plugin.

  3. Hello Nai,

Do you just use that coloured gradient layer with a low opacity over your image?

If so, then TR's approach is good.

Or is it a Photoshop filter that acts directly on the contents of the layer?

In which case, have you tried Null54's PSFilterPdn plugin? - it can run some Photoshop plugins directly in Pdn.

I don't know if the grafnet ones will work or not.

    Hello Red Ochre,

    Thanks for asking !

About TR's approach- I think that's what I need when I'm not able to use the 8bf files. And I am so grateful to know there're many alternatives out there.

About Null54's plug-in-  I have downloaded the plug-in and tried it, and it's perfectly awesome. And here are the root of the issue which prompted me to post my first post in this section : Not able to run  'Ambrosia' Photoshop filter and some other filters from Filters Factory as well. I have discussed it with Null54 and he gave the powerful solutions for it yesterday.

  4. Hello everyone !

I love Ambrosia effects and want to use it for some of my future projects. For the time being, I can't use available specific Photoshop plugin for it  and so needing some available alternatives.

Ambrosia effects, and how the colouring looked like :

I'll be glad to read from you all.

    Thanks !

  5. Both the x86 and x64 versions of Luce2 work in Paint.NET 4.0.

If you are using a 64-bit OS PSFilterPdn will automatically use the x64 version of Luce2 if it finds both versions.

    Thanks !

In my case, x64 didn't worked out for me and I have to shut down Paint.Net. I do believe that what had happened to me possibly just happened only on my computer. Grateful that x86 working very well.

  6. @Nai - I have managed to find most of those you named - thank you very much - but I'm still searching for the layer mask you mention ;)

    You're welcome, Pixey !

Here are official websites to that two layer mask plug-ins...

    Fluid Mask : http://www.vertustech.com/fluidMask/overview.html

    Perfect Mask 8 : http://www.ononesoftware.com/products/mask8/

Somehow both of it are shareware. Anyway, buying either one of it is still less painful than buying Photoshop ( just for the sake of getting the benefit of layer mask ).

  7. Hi there.  I finally got around to trying this plugin out - which is really fantastic, thank you.

Agree with you, Pixey ! This plugin is really awesome and a very good reason why I never and don't want to delete the .8bf files that I kept in my netbook since 2011 ( when I was still used Vicman's Photo Editor ).Now I can re- use my favorite filters- Optikverve Lab's virtualPhotographer and  Xero's Porcelain.

There're many great Photoshop plugins out there ( including layer mask ) that can be run on Paint.Net because of Null54's hard work. And here are my new favorite lists :

1.Luce by Amico Perry. ( This is for making light rays. From my experience, I'm suggesting that Paint.Net 4.0 users installing Luce2, on x86 folder which is compatible to Paint.Net 4.0, rather than the earlier Luce or Luce2 on x64 folder )

    2. Lens Flare and Glow by Axion

    3. Diffuse Glow by Richard Rosenman

    4. MezzoForceIce by 2manekenai ( for those who are crazy on making real-looking ice cubes )

    5. Snowflakes by VanDerLee.

Sorry for not including URL links, for the time being just go google or stumble upon.

  8. :cake:  :pizza:  <3

Congratulations to the winners ! :trophy:  :arrow-up:

And thanks also to those who pick my works as their choices.

Zillion thanks for you too, Daniels, for still picking my ideas as the topic for this round. And I'm sorry to all participants for the mis-communication that happened because I didn't convey the message clearly to Daniels.

    Cheerio !  XOXO.

  9. I'm sorry, for taking so many spaces right here:

  10. I want to say my words about Nai's entry, because I think that his entry is completely fine. A sig is meant to be something personal in the first place, if he finds the MH17 disaster really important, he may make a sig about it. The sig doesn't violate forum rules, because it doesn't offense anyone.

If I want to make a PETA sig because I'm a die-hard veganist, why shouldn't I be allowed to do so?

Thanks chimay12321 ! But that doesn't stop me from withdrawing.

Oh yeah, I feel 20 pounds lighter after the withdrawal.

  11. Before going even further, thank you chimay12321 for your objectivity and professionalism. This is the first time I'm swaying away from my comfort zone and where my core energy is- youthful, innocent art and pastel colours-to do some experiments with shaded, bold and striking colours. I learned a lot from you and your comments.

I realized that I have switched on the fire or hitting the bee hives, so with all humbleness I'm officially withdrawing myself from the competition. By God Will, there're will be a great lad who will take over my place in the competition, sooner or later.

    Cheerio !

  12. Yes the MH17 Disaster IS terrible and important, but I would have been more impressed if Nai had made a signature remembering the 298 innocent souls who died.

    Dear Drewdale,

Before going even further, FYI, I come from the same 'nest' as that fateful 'bird'. There're nothing more terrible than seeing your country flag lied on the ground and burned in flame, but not able to extinguish the fire. Only God does know.

Reading your last sentence, I think and dare to bet that you didn't see what I have posted in these two threads :

    .... who isnext?   254f0e94.gif

Can you even come close to nitenurs79's style and talented entry?

    Me...

But wait, I'm not interested in becoming the contender... Because I have different talents and strengths than her. And I'm an underdog.

Somehow I'm still considering my participation just for conveying the important message in this siggie banner.

( Latest update : Banner being removed, since I decide to withdraw from the competition. )

Update :  Officially withdrawing from the competition.

  15. That's so pretty @Nai and what a lovely idea :) .

Thanks Pixey ! I owe other people's Pinterest account and Hannah Hathaway's blogs for becoming a huge inspiration for me to do this.

Hopefully it can motivate other members/Paint.Net users to have their own Pinterest accounts, so that Rick & Co hard works and generosity going viral.

BTW and honestly, you're cute like a button !
