  1. Is there a forensic uses for PDN study group or a group of interested folks to direct how to/ what to try questions to? Has anyone put together pdf how to material on forensic uses? I typically have a scanned image that I am trying to see more in – or at least more than just zooming into. PDN can do wonderful things.
  2. Unzipping SwatchConverter - I get an .exe and exe.config I have been taught by Paint.net to look only for .dll Help, please. I am hoping to use this plugin to work with the luminosity in LAB color mode in paint.net
  3. Still hoping for anyone's suggestions. I believe Photoshop has a program available called Color Deconvolution which may do what I am asking about. I, of course, am focused on paint.net Can anyone suggest a path for me?
  4. Suggestions please. I am trying to use paint.net to help me with answers. Working with a color scan of a worksheet I made writing a few words with several different black ink pens, I am trying to prove that different pens have been used. I tried color picker tool and clicked on intersecting lines and thicker strokes. The HEX numbers as well as all RGB/HSV change when I click on different areas in material written by just one pen. For this to be useful I would need to have a method that would limit the HEX or RGB/HSV range for writing of one pen--so that the narrow range of numbers of one pen as opposed to what would show with each different pen, would 'prove' different pens.
  5. I am trying to determine what was printed or handwritten under a series of spiral and vertical and horizontal strokes, all black. I believe all was done with the same pen. If done by the same writer, then the difference might be the strokes intended to obliterate are more intense, making them heavier or thicker. My question: Magic Wand helps with different colors - what can you suggest that might discern heaviness or thickness in all in one color? -- in contiguous strokes? Any thoughts?
  6. Remember how we used to use a highlighter to manually draw a yellow stroke in a textbook to make a certain passage stand out. MS Word allows for highlighting text. With these methods the black text shows clearly through. I am trying to highlight specific letters of handwriting. I want the highlight stroke to be vertical, the width of the 'letter'. AND I need to be able to use several colors for several different letters. I've tried brushes, layers, and tranparency adjustments but that does not let the black of the letter being highlighted to show through. As a newbie I am in need of guidance. Thanks.
