That's plain awesome.
this is the coolest tut ever

Paint.net is a program where you can make images looks awesome.
1. Do whatever you want! edit a picture, make a virtual painting, etc.
2. Pretty much like any other painting/image programs. get a tool and start drawing something, or maybe open up an image to edit it.
3. Layers are... well, layers. they don't mess up things you do.
here are the features : http://www.getpaint.net/features.html
i swore there was a site about the tools in paint.net
-
he said that i need to re-format so that my windows can be turned to SP1
he said i'll lose all mah games
:c
Why did i uninstall.
-
just gonna wait for my uncle to update it instead
you know what happens if you make me do something i don't know
-
Sorry, what i meant was;
is backing up files optional
i nearly broke my cpu since it doesnt have enough space.
-
Does backing up my files optional
i dont want to remember that moment
oh god.
(just gonna ask my uncle who knows a lot of computers)
-
Okay, but uhh... one more question.
My Paint.net is still in 3.5.11
in utilities > check for updates, it said that there's no new updates
EDIT : Tried installing instead, but suddenly
"ERROR : WINDOWS 7 SP1 or NEWER IS REQUIRED"
my pc is windows 7
what is this.
why do i have to backup files
this is my first time
i uninstalled paint.net 3.5.11
oh no
it's windows 7 ultimate btw
can i not backup my files
does the update not break my utorrent downloads

Gradient tool (Linear shape ) + Transparency mode :. Drag the gradient vertically over the forground image that you want to fade then lower the layer's opacity to give Ghosty a see through effect.
It works :u
thanks
but one question
how do i install the new paint.net? i'm not used in updating stuff :'u
-
you know those ghosts, very spooky.
i wanna know how to make one of my pictures have a transparent fade, like the ghost's feet (even though they don't have feet)
EDIT : since i didn't updated paint.net, i forgot how to update my 3.5.11 paint.net :'u
-
Would you mind posting an example image of what's happening?
As far as I know, .png images support a full range of transparency. Make sure, when you're saving, you have bit-depth set to "Auto-detect"
Ah, the bit depth was the problem
thanks.
-
HELLO
i'm here to ask a question, idk if it's possible but,
how can you keep semi-transparent parts in .png files :0
for example
the Drop shadow plugin looks cool.
but it doesn't work effectively if the background is completely transparent
i saved it as a .png file then bam
the shadow is gone (except for the non-transparent parts of the shadow)
-
The only plugin that may help you here is BoltBait's PasteAlpha
Thanks, but i don't think i get it about the plugin
using pastealpha was so slow :0

Sorry, I don't know anything about skinning, but normally to make things shiny you first add a layer above your image, lower the layer's opacity. then color with a little bit of white in the right spots (for your particular skinning thing, I don't know what the right spots would be. You will have to experiment). And depending on what you want shiny, sometimes gaussian blurring or adding some glow effect can add to the shiny appearance.
Here is a paint.net Guide if you don't know some of the things I'm talking about.
Layers : http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/LayersWindow.html
Gaussian Blur : http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/EffectsBlursMenu.html
Glow : http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/EffectsPhotoMenu.html
Also, you might want to head over to the tutorials section of this forum, find tutorials with shiny things, and try them out to learn a few techniques.
http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/forum/18-tutorials-publishing-only/
Your advice is pretty much useless.
i wish 4.0 has a thing where we can seperate the channels or a plugin right nao, i wish this happens q-q
EDIT : i feel like a jerk :c
well i read the rules, sent an apology message to cc4fuzzyhuggles and messaged the mod who locked this
i'll be careful next time...

#3 is the one about running Gradient Bars. I think it's confusing because the UI for Gradient Bars has changed.
The ui is the problem, since some options are removed that is used in the tut.

BEST TUT EVAR!

What's the original CP outline layer? i merged the outline of the centre and the side of it
