  1. I do understand the adding a layer, set to "multiply" and paintbrush method. It takes a few steps and longer time to do it. Anyway it just a friendly suggestion to add an additional highlight tool function. The snipping tool in Windows have a highlight button so I actually thought that an advanced software like paint.net should have a highlight button. I use paint.net mainly for annotation of screenshots. I usually do these things: add text, draw lines/arrows, rectangle, highlight and blank out details.
  2. I would like to suggest adding a Highlight function and Highlight button in paint.net. Thanks I guess the freeform shape button which is seldom used can be changed to a highlight button. Or maybe just add an additional highlight button in the Tools.
  3. Thanks EER. BTW what does "vote this post up" (little up arrow at bottom right corner of post) do?
  4. I understand that I can click on the palette to select a color. I just thought maybe there are some ways to set some defaults, for example I am using it for text annotation so I always use red text/lines. Could the default font size and thickness of lines be changed? Where that I can look at defaults that could be changed?
  5. The top menu Window>Colors bring out a Colors window. It always default with black color I want to set default to red color. Is it possible? I usually use red color for lines/text that I want to add to the pictures. Thanks
  6. Is there a highlight button in paint? How do I highlight text/images
  7. How do I know if the text/shapes are on their own layer? How do I know if I applied to the base layer or flattened the image down to a single layer? Thanks.
  8. I made a screenshot. then In paint.net software, I click File>Open and selected the file to open. I added some lines using the paintbrush and rounded rectangle. I then click save. Now the screenshot looks like this example: http://www.screencast.com/t/xlY5bUOlA9 Q1) Is it possible to remove the lines, and get back the original screenshot? Q2) How to highlight? I searched but do not seem to find a highlight button. Thanks
