  1. BoltBait, why bother taking another image when you can just CSI enhance it? Just get the image, push a couple of buttons while you say "enhance the image" and done. You can actually get 1440p full HD photos from a single coloured picture..
  2. Thanks Seerose! I've added another one which is similar, but a marked improvement.
  3. Holy wow, that's neat. I like it a lot, nice an simple. The shadows and lighting are spot-on.
  4. I don't think I dithered anything - what you're seeing is a roughened vignette, for that 'grunge' effect. There is also definitely smoke there, but it's probably not as noticeable as the other plumes. Yours is pretty good, it does look a lot like cross-stitch. Perhaps duplicate the layer twice, add noise, motion blur the first up, the second across, blend layers. The best blend mode seems to be 'Darken'. It adds a little more 'thread-y' texture to it.
  5. Nothing. The store ran out of pellets.
  6. Long hiatus, but I'm back. Here is my new image, 'Gonirra'
  7. Not bad! Perhaps the front 'engine' bit isn't required, and maybe the rear one could be enlarged. Looks neat though, keep it up! Here's one I was commisioned to do. It's my sister's guinea pig attacking Tokyo. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/236475228/gonirra.png
  8. Nice! They look like the MegaTowers from Simcity. I hope they're more profitable!
  9. A good rule of thumb is to start with a large canvas and work downwards. It's much, much more difficult to start with a small canvas and work outwards.
  10. Looks great! Glad you found what you were looking for!
  11. Time to revive this with my latest abstract:
  12. Sure thing, I'll work on it after my Physics exam this afternoon!
  13. You might want to try using the Oblique plugin, which lets you skew objects. http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/2524-oblique-effect-plugin-ymd100714/ I think true isometric angle is 30 degrees, so when you have the plugin, follow these steps: Duplicate the layer. Use the Oblique plugin to skew the fence. (You may need to do this on a larger canvas, since if the image goes off the edge it will wrap around.) The numbers you're looking for probably have something to do with 30 degrees, mess around and see if you can get it perfect. Let me know if you need any other help!
  14. Updated! "The Orb" I might do a tutorial on the liquid in the background, if anyone's interested. I hijacked it from a photoshop tutorial with some tweaks and modifications.
  15. First start by outlining it in pencil on a new layer and filling in the outline. Then, select the shape you made and apply a gradient to it.
  16. I'd assume so, judging solely by the number of shares it has. So yeah, looks reputable.
  17. Sometimes I find the transparent gradient tool a bit tricky to use (lol), so I'm sure this plugin will come in handy! Perhaps an option to pan the effect would also be useful!
  18. Interestingly Jehovah's Witnesses have long been the subject of persecution. In fact, in South Korea, Russia, and the like, many have been imprisoned for neutrality. Some countries just don't want people to be neutral. (Also, I am, in fact, a Jehovah's Witness )
  19. It happened a lot in during WW2 in many allied countries too. Many people who didn't want to join the army were imprisoned, or at least ridiculed, attacked etc. There was a lot of that in the US...patriotism and all that. I'd object to conscription too, regardless of the consequences.
  20. You want to swap the colours used? Use right click instead of left click to draw the gradient.
