Even when you first open Paint.net, the default pointer is not an arrow if you move it over the canvas or outside it. But if you hoover your mouse over the color, layers or tools windows and the menu, you have your arrow pointer back.

Hello @zaya, I will be happy to test it but at this time your kaleidoscope effect wants to replace another plugin already installed on my PC. You may need to rename it to something like "Zaya's Kaleidoscope" I like what you did on the second photo. It looks like a burst of stars. I wonder if you could add a fading effect (alpha) on the outside so it would blend with the background.

@vaaski There is nothing wrong with Alpha Mask. The problem is on your side. The left side of the layer you copied to the clipboard has something. You can check it by using the color picker.

Did you type your text on layer 2 or 3?

Will the Curve and Line Tool continue to improve?
Eli replied to BobBlack's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
I also use the line tool a lot and as @MJW said, it is difficult aligning end points. I would love a poly-line and a polygone tool. -
I had to try it after seeing all the amazing creations. Thanks @ReMake.

Easy plugin for exposure adjustment
Eli replied to Ishi's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
Shadow and highlight recovery is old but efficient. You may need to use different layers to focus where the effect should be applied. But if you do not like it there is also a more recent tool that has color, temperature, contrast, shadow recovery and brightness controls: Boltbait's Combined Adjustments effect. -

adding note/comment to photo/jpeg
Eli replied to HoopDogg's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
Try Genially. You can add photos and the notes you need. -
Every time there is a Paint.Net update I fear that some effects will no longer work and be lost. I think of TechnoRobbo's, midora's, Red Ochre's effects for example.😥

Bendeable color transparency
Eli replied to oOXenonTitareOo's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
You may use a distortion effect to bend the colors such as Wobbles. It may not be what you asked. -

paint.net 4.1.6 is now available!
Eli replied to Rick Brewster's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
I do not have a 4K monitor either and the changes do not disturb me. It took me just a couple of days to get familiar with the new icons. I already forgot what the old icons looked like. What amazes me the most is the diskette icon. Who has one? 😄 -
