Bout time to share some techniques Skullbonz.Sharing is caring.Id sure like to know how you get those nebulas/gas clouds with just PDN.I know how difficult it is.Major props! The updated cannon is awesome and I love the abstract image. The grey one.A cool accident was it?Ya...I bet it was.Great stuff. -

resizing an image for better quality
johnnysdream replied to johnnysdream's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
Thank you David.Actually I did read the article you wrote and thats what made me think of the question.A good read. -
Nothing too serious here but I was just curious about something. Two something's actually. Most of us are aware that in order to achieve a higher quality image,we start off making the image huge then resize it smaller. How do YOU guys do this?Do you scale it down with the move tool?Or do you resize it under the image menu?Does it matter? Secondly, lets say I want a final image of 1000x1000 and I start it off with a size of 2000x2000 so I can scale it down later,do you work on the image at 2000x2000 or zoom out and work on it smaller?Just curious.

Great new additions! -
Thank you very much Goonfella and Red ochre! The absinthe bottle idea came from ....I cant remember.Pixey?I seen her do this bottle(very close to it)in the wine vendor contest and I followed a tutorial she left a link for.I owe it to her in a way.For some reason,I had more fun making it than anything else ive done.@Red ochre,by my own research, the drink is changed by law so that you cant achieve that euphoric feeling that you hear about in the U.S.The best bet is to order it online from Europe.I spent 80 bucks on a bottle here in the U.S and it tasted exactly like black liquorice with rubbing alcohol.

I think Autumn Kiss is my favorite out of the new ones!Great work on all of them though.Problem is,I dont come to your page that much for the fact that for some reason only your page takes like 6 mins to load for me.Not sure whats up with that. -

@Cc4FuzzyHuggles and Scooter,I thank you very very much!3 waterfalls, and the statue were gimp brushes and the building I made in Sketchup .Everything else was PDN.I had flying cars flying all about and I beveled a convincing looking tunnel into one of the cliff faces but took it all out because it took too much away from the natural beauty of the canyon.Lol,as if the planet and building didnt. -

johnnysdream replied to david.atwell's topic in The Pictorium
Thank you so much!Yes,I love your work and it reminds me of myself because I have/make a lot of ships in sketchup and then I render them in shaderlight but I dont put those images here.I just commented on your gallery a little bit ago. -
Good photo manipulations ScifiGirl!I like the 3rd one the most so far.The one with the elephants is really cool but I myself would have made the African part darker. In fact, perhaps a full on night time scene?Which would be rather simple to achieve but not necessary.

http://i.imgur.com/3wLJbXy.jpg Wow!What in everything thats holy is going on here? Why when I do this thumbnail thing do I get this horrible effect? The rings?I loaded this image up the same way in my gallery and was horrified to see this unacceptable mash of garbage unworthy of Paint.net.The picture turned out just fine at Deviant Art.And it does not look like that on my pc.But I just know "you guys" have an answer. -

Correct. It is not a pro job with the blending but I think its acceptable.Passable.Lol,you should have seen it before. There is a ton of smudge tool going on all over the shoreline and other places.I wanted to get the shoreline......well...to look like a shoreline. With the water washing up on the edge like a beach. You know what I mean.Couldn't figure it out.HEY!! I guess that's what the image hospital is for.Lol.I think that would have helped give it a much more legit look.Sadly,I don't think Ill spend much more time on this image because I didn't save it as a PDN file the last time. And no way I'm starting over.So the blue part, was it too bright?Too dark?I'm thinking too bright.Unless you meant something else entirely. If you look closely at the African picture,I believe its NOT a sunny day but it looks overcast. So perhaps the snow part is too bright?Either way,Im moving on to a different photo manipulation involving the Grand Canyon into an alien world/future city in the next day or so I've been working on for several days.It probably wont be pro quality but it will be close.I'll need feedback on it as well. And thank you for the advice and compliment.
