Well I've come to find the DDS support lacking and as a result I am a bit disappointed.
Cubemaps ? There is no support for opening cubemaps. Mipmaps ? There is no support for opening mipmaps. Mipmaps can be modified to produce certain effects. For example, if you have a very grainy sand detail texture, the mipmaps can be blurred out such that the further away you are from the sand, it starts to gradually become smoother. This does not occur from generated mipmaps.
Does anyone know of an extra plugin or other utility I could use to edit dds files ?
