  1. I really don't have any knowledge of zipped folders .... but maybe this was the reason why the former installation stopped working. Not sure if the same might happen again in due course. Right-click on this unzipped folder still shows the 'extract' option.
  2. ~ sigh ~ Finally it's done. Downloaded and installed over the previous one. Seems to be working fine and opens instantly with a click on its desktop icon. It was saved in the 'download' folder as zipped file and I opened & installed from there. At present that folder shows 2 zipped files - previous & present. Should I let the previous one remain?
  3. Sorry for the trouble. I need some guidelines again. I visited the following link to download" http://www.dotpdn.co...nloads/pdn.html Clicked at Paint.NET v3.5.11 and then I get the message that it's a zip file, I presume this means present one that I already have. How to proceed with this?
  4. I think it's best if I download from the link you provided. When I clicked 'repair,' it began downloading some softward from somewhere. I didn't proceed with it. Thanks again for your help.
  5. Many thanks for the link and all the help. Btw, in the Control Panel, when I click on Paint.Net, a 'repair' button is activated. Would it be okay to try repair .. if it doesn't work, I'll download from the link you gave. Or is there a likelihood that 'repair' might lead to additional problems?
  6. OK .. can u please give me the link for that download? Will it automatically install over the existing one?
  7. Same problem, it won't open .... I think I'll simply need to uninstall and download again.
  8. Paint.Net in 'C' drive > PaintDotNet.exe.config. > when I click on it says "windows cannot open this file" (all images enclosed). And when I click on the file PaintDotNet which seems to be the same icon as on my desktop, again it doesnt' respond and freezes my laptop.
  9. Windows Explorer > Downloads > (images attached) Can't find the file named PaintDotNet.exe
  10. Here is the screenshot image. This is what it shows on properties > target
  11. I installed Paint.net (free) about 2 years ago. Not sure exactly which version. It had been working ok but suddenly now when I double click on the icon on my desktop, it won't respond. I scanned it with the anti-virus installed in my laptop, it showed no threats. Yet the icon won't open. Not just that, but when I try to open it by double clicking, it freezes the computer and I need to restart. Would it be advisable to remove and re-install paint.net?
