  1. During the 4.0.10 update, paint.net seemed to have mysteriously uninstalled itself afterward. All that was left were my Effects and FileTypes folders.

I tried installing the latest version, and at first it seemed to be working, albeit slowly. But then it got to here:

It's been stuck here for almost 13 hours.

The strange thing is, it isn't frozen. I've gotten no errors/notifications, Task Manager says it's fine, I can switch to and from the window, and the progress bar still has that little "moving light"

Does anyone know what's going on?

  2. It was definitely a great idea to pin this thread. I saw it while looking up PDN tutorials on YouTube, and was already suspicious.

The name itself, Megalo, to me seems like what someone might name a shady, illegal site to download pirated content. Anyone else agree?

  3. Great tutorial Pixey!

I just wish Paint.NET had native support for Wacom Bamboo tablets. I have to import my drawings from Sketchbook Express over into Paint.NET. In my version of Sketchbook, all layers are compressed when saved, and it can't be uncompressed. It doesn't support transparency (the layers do, but not the actual picture), and it's just an overall pain to work with.

  4. Dents Classic, gives you a very smilar effect like the 1st and 3rd pictures, find it in Ed Harvey Effects Archive

To get the effect, increase the Amount in the Stretch tab, and adjust the Turbulence in the Details tab, you can play with all other options for more distortion.

Thanks for the tip, I kept adjusting the tilt, adjustment, and some other settings, I created the animated text in my current signature

  5. If you use the Shape3D plugin to get a cube shape instead of following step 4 and using a circle, you can get a Minecraft-style explosion.

Is there any way to make it look more earth-like (water and land)?
