UTF8 encoding is always the best solution. I expected that Windows 10 to come up with this solution for Notepad utility. But disappointment! ANSI encoding (by default) is still preferred by M$. Thanks toe_head2001 for your very clever work!

I've never understand this mania of people to replace the written message with icons. It's something that should give pause to all. Where would humanity be in 200 years? We will know it to write? They easily recognize a text message in whatever language is written and can translate using dictionary, but these icons are incomprehensible to them. Hi Rick. I don't want to upset you. I noticed some irritation in your message and it is my fault. As BB said my english is very poor, that's why I use pictures sometimes because a picture says a thousand words. I thought in my naivity that things will be understood with a simple picture. Thanks BoltBait for your answer but in Windows 10 we can choose the color of border: Settings\Personalization\Colors → Choose a color and Automatically pick an accent color for my background = Off. Then Choose your accent color (choose twice a different color otherwise it remains white = default). I choosed blue and the windows borders are visible but not for floating windows from PDN. Also, I tried Winaero Tweaker but no success.

It's about floating windows: Tools, Colors, Layers, History. No big trouble, but sometimes it's useful to see the border.

The paper size listing on the Paper tab is provided by the printer driver, not by PDN. Since PDN (and all other programs including Notepad) gets its list of paper sizes from the printer driver, this seems like a printer driver issue. Make sure you have the latest driver for your printer. If it doesn't include a specific definition for A5, then you'll have to use a Custom size setting. What is the printer you have selected as the default?

BB I understood what you said, but I don't think Diagnostics data are any significance.

Diagnostics don't show me any error, instead there is some loading plugins errors: Ok, I renamed the Effects folder and the issue does not exist anymore.

Please check if this happens to someone else: 1. Open PDN. 2. Go to Settings (Gear icon) and untick Translucent windows then Close. 3. Try to open Effects or Adjustments menu. Nothing happens. 4. Go to Settings and tick Translucent windows then Close. 5. Try to open Effects or Adjustments menu. Now it is working. Windows10 (x64).
