  4. I have a huge German-built belt sander which I suspect is a repurposed war engine. I have two grits for it Digit removal Limb removal On the plus side, the beast is so heavy it takes two hands to operate it. I'm in more danger of being dragged right across the work piece and thrown into the far wall.

  5. Fair play - beautiful house. I can't be doing with Kevin McCloud on Grand Designs, I find him smarmy Thanks for the 👍 @Ego Eram Reputo @BoltBait and @Seerose ... the project is turning into Chelfgate ... she does not like my new idea for the final finish. Too late because it's down to bare wood. A tip for anyone with a belt sander - if you're going to catch your finger on the belt, do it on 120 grit or higher ... do it on 60 grit and it takes ages to sand the blood out of the grain ... sore as hell tonight with a few layers off of my finger tip

  8. Hello - I am Tilly and I was adopted by @Pixey two years ago from a cat shelter. I am 10 years old and don't know where I came from originally and, if I did, I couldn't communicate with my mortals. But, everything ended up for the best and I am a very happy cat. I know all about Paint.net as my Mum is always playing with it and I then don't get as much attention. I know all about you people on here as my adopted mum is always talking about your lovely works 😻

  10. @AdamWhite, you did a nice job creating the star height map, even with the artifacts, which come about because of the low precision of black-and-white height maps. Besides the Texture Smoother, another way to create smooth height maps is to create them as 24-bit maps with the Texture Merger. Here is an example created with the Texture Merger, along with a plugin called Angled Gradient. (I must admit, it took quite a bit of effort to figure out how to make the star; which is a difficulty with using the Texture Merger to make objects like this. How
