This tutorial is available as a PDF. Click here to view or download it Choosing the background image for a glass effect is an important part of making the effect look ummm effective. You want to make sure that the background adds to the glass effect, but at the same time it shouldn’t overwhelm it or make it less visible or clear. Playing with Texture Smoother/ and or Texture Shader settings, gives interesting results. As does omitting the Splinter stage. Play around, I lost 40 odd hours until I was happy Plugins Needed: Alpha Mask Splinter Texture Smoother Texture Shader The Tutorial Examples Using Splinter x 2 on that step

With the "Save as a copy" feature, the file would remain "dirty" if in a changed, unsaved state. This would remind you to save the layered file if you go to exit PdN before saving.

HyReZ literally just beat me to it. Indeed it is because you use the colour picker tool: you're exiting the text writing tool when you do that and as that is not running when you change the colour the colour of the text you wrote does not change. If when you are writing text the text cursor is still flashing the tool is in operation and if you want to change the text colour then simply move the mouse cursor over to the Colors box and you can swap the secondary/primary colours or use any other colours from the palette you want.

Greetings, I think that you can only change the text color as you describe when the text cursor is flashing. After that you will have to use the Fill Tool to pour color onto the text character. When this is done you can use the color wheel to try various colors while the Fill Tool is on that text character.

Have to agree the newer icons look sharper. Even as I switch between a iMac and an extended monitor, the newer icons are sharper. Seriously, some people just need to get over themselves or uninstall PDN and move on to another software. The complaining is similar to what every parents face from their stomping, temper-tantrum throwing teenagers say, "If you love me, you would give me <insert request here>..." 🙄

Look how crisp and sharp the new icons look compared to the old ones. (at 200% DPI)

Dear @Seerose I just came back to Paint.net and I am happy to see that your problem has already been solved. I was unhappy with the colors and so I tried some more. I shut down "Blending" and so the colors true to picture and adjusted them here. Have a ice evening!

That's not the same filter. Update using the arrow that looks like the recycle icon. Then, type in search 'emboss', you'll see my filter under Testing -> Reptorian -> Emboss-Relief

Enticingly obscure and somewhat scary in a positive way! Reminds me a bit of the movie The Nun

Looks like the guy was put through a psychedelic CAT scan, in my humble perception. Cool looking!
