    This tutorial is available as a PDF. Click here to view or download it Plugins Required: Shape3D Drop Shadow For this we’ll be using these two images: Start with a blank canvas 1200x1200 px. With the Wood image right in the center. Use Shape 3D on it with these settings to get the basic wooden shape. Next import the Metal Rings and put them in the center also. Duplicate the Metal Rings layer and put one layer on top of the Wood for the front side and one layer below the Wood for the back side. Next use Shape 3D on the top layer of Metal Rings to get the front side. TIP! The settings are the same as previously used except for the Horizontal Radius. After that use Shape 3D on the bottom layer of Metal Rings to get the back side. It’s not much but it looks odd without the back side. TIP! The settings are the same as previously used except for the Object Rotation on Axis 1 & 2. After that take the Rectangle Select tool and select the bottom half of the top layer Metal Rings. Use Drop Shadow on it with these settings. Next put the Rectangle Select tool around the top half of the same layer. Now use Drop Shadow again at these settings. Now deselect the image and flatten and you’re finished! Not many people will use this tut and there’s not much you can use it for but I thought it was kind of interesting.     People come from around the world to hike there, but it's one of those things I certainly take for granted. Really should appreciate it a lot more. Any thoughts folks ? Easy when it's for yourself, but not so for others

    This plugin is the result of discussion. You can find it: Effects -> Tools -> Center Lines CenterLines.zip This plugin allows you to draw centerlines on the added layer in the center of the canvas or in the center of the selected area. You can also change the center of centerlines relative to the canvas or relative to the selected area. The Color's drop-down list allows you to select a line color: Primary, or Secondary, or Custom.

    Hello there, I'm David Tschumperlé, the main developer of G'MIC. First, I'd like to thanks @null54 for taking the time to port our G'MIC-Qt plug-in for Paint.Net. Second, I've read all your messages and indeed noticed that the 'Stylize' filter was painfully slow on Windows. We have investigated this issue these last days with people at pixls.us, and hopefully we should have found what was going on. We were using too much mutex locks/unlocks in the multi-threaded algorithm, which was slowing down everything. I'm working hard right now to fix this issue. I hope I will be able to post a pre-release tomorrow (Friday) with the fixes included. If you have any questions related to G'MIC, I'd be happy to answer (depending on the amount of free time I have ). Cheers. EDIT: The G'MIC-Qt plug-in is a product of the GREYC Laboratory, mainly done by Sébastien Fourey and myself, with the help of many contributors.

We will be making the 'base' texture and adding color to it.     This tutorial is available as a PDF. Click here to view or download it Glassy Marbles tutorial was written by @drakaan in 2007 and is now unfortunately lost. After consulting with @welshblue, we decided to reproduce (rewrite) this tutorial based on the original text, making some changes to it. This is our work jointly. In this tutorial we will make marble like in this picture: For this tutorial, you'll need the plugins: Zoom Blur Deluxe for 4.0 by @null54 and Shape3D by @MKT (it's what makes this tutorial fairly simple to repeat). All of the other steps can be accomplished using the built-in paint.net tools and effects. Start with a new () image, preferably square (for example: 800x800px). Add some texture for the interior of the marble. Apply the Clouds () effect (Effects -> Render -> Clouds) with blue color, but you could use pretty much any texture you like: This next step is optional, but it's nice to do if you want a little more realistic-looking marble. Use Zoom Blur Deluxe effect (Effects -> Blurs -> Zoom Blur Deluxe) (or use the Sin Waves effect by @MadJik, or use the built-in Dents () effect... get creative here) to change the texture to suit your taste: Now it's time for Shape3D (Effects -> Render -> Shape3D). Set the Sphere Scaling to 1.380, use the Half Sphere Map texture, and leave the rest at default (except for Anti-alias, check the ON box and set AA-Level between 2 and 5): We now have the beginning of our marble. Lighting is what makes things look glassy, so first, we're going to make what looks like an inner highlight. With the Magic Wand () tool select the transparent area on the image and then invert (Ctrl+I) the selection. That should leave you with just the marble selected: Add a new () layer above the marble texture, Primary color should be white, and Secondary color should be fully transparent. Start your Radial Gradient ( ) in the center of the shadowed area of the marble texture, and end it on the opposite side of the marble a bit closer to the marble's center: We don't want the gradient to go all the way to the marble's edge, so use the Move Selection () tool (and hold down the Shift key) to drag the bottom-right selection nub up and to the left... basically shrinking the selection towards the upper-left corner of the canvas: Invert (Ctrl+I) the selection and press Delete to get something like this: Now, we need to soften this inner highlight a bit. Use the Gaussian Blur () effect (Effects -> Blurs -> Gaussian Blur): Next, add a new () layer above the inner highlight to create a shiny spot at the top-left portion of the marble. Choose the Brush () tool with a size of about 90-100 and Hardness 20% - One click to make a spot like this in White: If necessary, apply the Glow () effect with default settings (Effects -> Photo -> Glow) and the Gaussian Blur () effect (with a radius found experimentally) a couple of times to finish the shiny spot. Now we need to add another highlight at the top of the marble on a new () layer. This is going to be in an oval-shaped area centered on the marble's vertical axis and stretching from the top to about 2/3 of the way to the bottom. Use Ellipse Selection () tool to create this area and going to fill it with a vertical Gradient ( ) (again, white fading to transparent) from bottom to top: Use Gaussian Blur effect at a low (8-12) radius to soften the edges a bit. Repeat (Ctrl+F) if necessary. This highlight may be a bit harsh, so adjust the layer's opacity settings () until it's a fairly subdued highlight: If your texture was fairly dark, you may not need this next step, but if you have a lighter-colored texture, you'll need to add a bit of shading to get the small highlight to show up and make the marble look good. Set your colors to Black and White (), and create a new () layer above the Background layer. Select the marble's circular texture area (you can go back to the Background layer, select () transparent area, invert the selection (Ctrl+I) and come back to this new layer you just created above it). Use the Linear Gradient ( ) tool and make your gradient go from the top-left edge to the bottom-right edge: Change the blending mode of this layer to "Multiply", and adjust the opacity until it looks good: After saving, flattening, resizing, adding (in any way you like) a background and a shadow, you should be able to get something like this: Below is the outcome of following the tutorial by @welshblue: Try playing with the lighting as it masterful makes @welshblue and you will get even more impressive result: We hope you find it useful, please share your creations and suggestions with us all.

    This was made using @null54's PSD Filter Plugin with an 8bf filter called "Mehdi - Julia World 1.1 and also I used Trail Blur by @MJW for the background I hope you like it fellow PDNers

    Version 1.1 posted. This plugin had been using the MathNet.Iridium library for the Complex struct. However, the Complex struct was added to the .NET Framework some time after @PJayTycy initially created this plugin. I have therefore removed the dependency of the MathNet.Iridium.dll file. After you've updated the plugin, you can delete that file from your Effect folder.

    @lynxster4 ... thanks ... I should have said the headphones aren't mine ... on the to do list, but I can't take credit for those. I thought I'd do a 'dark' image. Just for a change. @Seerose ... many thanks ... years of practice and a sad life in front of a pc screen, means I make images with lots of bits in @Pixey ... thanks ... I'm not going to get started on the state of Britain, we're a joke. I think we can look at our own work too long and either love it or hate it. Depending on moods. Contemplate ... it's always nice to do a bright image. i don't know why I don't do more. ( I know the wife would say, it's because I'm a miserable so and so) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Follow on image from the lamp tutorial. Those who continue to support me here are very much appreciated and help to keep the juices flowing It's going on the back burner for a while as I work on doing the whole Halo series of weaponry ... some are proving easier than others ? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Something totally different now. After one of my t-shirt designs hit the 500 sale point, I thought I'd stop being so lazy and design something else. I went for an ink smudge technique that I must admit is a lot easier to achieve in PS but am more than happy with how the PDN versions turned out Not sure if they're lacking some sort of caption or not ? Or something ?

    Thought I'd share this as it was so amazing. I awoke yesterday to find a beached whale. I called the Mote Aquarium, which is very close, and they gave instructions and said they'd get here asap. Sadly I had to leave for a pre scheduled PET scan, and could not stay to watch. But, a guy from our building managed to film the whole thing and I put it together. The Pygmy Killer whale Melon-Headed Whale is doing well today, has been named Bolt and is swimming on its own and has been reunited with 2 other whales, which they think is from the same pod. They were rescued on August the 30th, but are in critical condition. No one is sure, yet, if this is due to the horrible Red Tide we are suffering with at the moment.

    😂 I was sat in a hospital ward this morning looking around at all the machinery/equipment/ plugs and it dawned on me ... my entry has got a plug and flex - great -but it's 'bubbling' despite not being connected to the mains 😂 The way PDN can get into the blood as well as 'good' toxins is incredible

    Sorry it took me so long to try this @welshblue I got waylaid by cross-stitching. 🤣 Excellent tutorial. Here's my take on it: Lampshade pattern is my own made with @toe_head2001 's Tartan plugin. I re-purposed your lamp texture for my table. The lamp is 'on'.

You will need a Magnifier plugin by @MadJik. We'll try to create an explosion like this: Create a new image (File -> New ) with a size of 800x600 px. Apply Clouds effect (Effects -> Render -> Clouds ) with the default settings. Duplicate layer . Apply Bulge effect (Effects -> Distort -> Bulge ) to the top layer and set the Bulge amount to 100. Set the layer blending mode to Xor. Apply Bulge effect (Effects -> Distort -> Bulge ) to the bottom layer and set the Bulge amount to -200. Merge layers . You should get this: Duplicate layer . Apply Zoom Blur effect (Effects -> Blurs -> Zoom Blur ) to the top layer and set the Zoom Amount to 75. Set the layer blending mode to Lighten. Apply Curves adjustment (Adjustments -> Curves ) with RGB mode to the layer. Now you should get this: Duplicate the top layer . Apply Dents effect (Effects -> Distort -> Dents ) to the top layer and set the Scale amount to 35. Apply Gaussian Blur effect (Effects -> Blurs -> Gaussian Blur ) to the top layer and set the Radius amount to 12. Go to the bottom layer. Apply Curves adjustment (Adjustments -> Curves) with Luminosity mode to the layer. Apply Magnifier effect (Effects -> Distort -> Magnifier), set the Quality amount to 5 and check the Delete background check box. Apply Rotate / Zoom (Layers -> Rotate / Zoom) and set the Zoom amount to 0,65. Apply Curves adjustment (Adjustments -> Curves ) with RGB mode. Apply Brightness / Contrast adjustment (Adjustments -> Brightness / Contrast ), set the Brightness amount to -55 and Contrast amount to 70. Add a new layer () between the two top layers. Set the layer blending mode to Additive. Set Colors to Black and White . Select the Gradient () Tool with Radial () type and draw a circle in the center of the layer. Invert the colors (Adjustments -> Invert Colors or use a keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+I) as shown below. Merge layers from top to bottom . The final image should look like this: All the above effect settings are approximate and depend on your preferences.

May have to have some chemo, but not long term. My surgeon is positive he's got it all this time Now back to my work on here 😁 which is a wonderful thing to have and I enjoy it so much
