I've just added the allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox attribute onto the iframe's sandbox. In essence, any linked page would inherit the sandbox restrictions of the iframe. Not anymore. This should fix issues where people were not able to reply to linked topics, or even download attachments.

@Silverdenn probably came to this topic via the Plugin Index. The Plugin Index, until a few minutes ago, would cause these kind of issues on pages it linked to.

I have just clicked on the .zip in the first post and it has downloaded correctly in each of Firefox, Chrome, and Edge. Also if I right click and copy the link, then it pastes as expected as https://forums.getpaint.net/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=21189&key=c22a0ce82c264787ef702b21595d1a8c and then downloads the zip correctly. I see nothing wrong here. What browser are you using @Silverdenn?

Hey there, I got the issue. You can right click and click on 'copy link', then past it in your url bar. You'll see there is possible something like "https://https://", just remove one of them and it'll download!

This was the same installer I used where I got this error, unfortunately. I have tried the other installers, but was still met with the same error. Thank you, though!

@fuser3000 You can limit the region being filled by creating a selection. You can read about the Paint Bucket fill tool here: https://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/PaintBucket.html And the Selection tools here: https://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/SelectionTools.html You may find that the Magic Wand helps. Please post an image of your character so people can give you specific advice.

Hello. I am on Windows 11, and I have had paint.net for a while now. After updating it, it would no longer open. I restarted my computer, which did nothing. I then uninstalled paint.net, and now whenever I try to install it, I get this error. I have tried uninstalling then reinstalling the installer, removing every trace of paint.net from my computer, and even running the installer as admin, and still no luck. any help would be very appreciated!

W11 settings wouldn't allow svg association with Paint.net, seems to be hard wired on MS Edge. That can be changed to another app in the suggested list, Paint.net not being one of them, unfortunately. Setting the default for svg for a MS store app won't work as mentioned If getting it on the suggested list is possible, great, otherwise attempting to find (the store) app on PC gets us to Where Is Paint.net, which isn't desirable either.

@Painted Butterfly I'm now wondering whether you are really using paint.net or whether you are talking about a different app and have come to the wrong forum. To crop in paint.net you simply make a selection and then do Image -> Crop to Selection or press the shortcut Ctrl+Shift+X In paint.net there is nowhere to "click OK" when cropping. Nothing has changed in paint.net What app are you using please?

"Canvas" was actually the first word that came to mind! Then I thought about the literal metaphor and worried it might not be clear - [i]technically[/i], if we treat an image editing program as a direct analogy to ink-and-paint, the "canvas" would be almost synonymous with "image", since one paints on the canvas. But... And that's exciting news! I agree that color is probably less-essential - though on the other hand, it might also easily be filed under "no good reason not to". I can think of scenarios where it might be nice having a primary-color canvas, but at the same time, they're not scenarios I envision myself ever being in. But shading would be critical, there are times where I almost find myself wanting to load GIMP, and that's an experience no human being should ever have to go through (snip) I think our workflows are actually pretty similar. After a while, though, I actually feel mild tendonitis in my right middle finger from all the scrollwheeling around. (really unrelated, but given the workflow discussion, I feel I should also give a shoutout to toe_head2001's "Quadrilateral Correction", which is invaluable with scanned images)

You can just hold Ctrl when you want to sample the image instead of the layer (it says this in the status bar at the bottom, btw)

This is something that always annoys me when I use paint.net. I use the eyedropper tool, try to figure out why it isnt working, and realize its sampling the layer. Sampling a layer only is almost never done, and its annoying to always switch towards it. The reason i cant just keep the sampling of the Eyedropper to layer is because when i set the Sampling of the Eyedropper to Image, it also sets the Magic Wand to sample from the image, which is also something that you rarely use. You keep having to figure out why thats happening and you have to switch a part of me dies whenever i sample a colour and get this

How are you making the rotation? I'm guessing using Layers -> Rotate/Zoom? And what do you mean by "Now that I cannot see the image"? The image should remain visible as you rotate it. Nothing has changed in paint.net in this respect. What exactly is happening? At what point does the image disappear for you?

That is not normal, and it sounds like you're having a performance issue on your system. Please post the diagnostic information found within paint.net. Settings -> Diagnostics -> Copy to clipboard.

I have used paint.net for 10 years, often for cropping and straightening images at work. In the past, this was very easy. Now when I attempt to do this: 1.) The crop rectangle is difficult to drag to the desired borders of the image, even when I zoom out: it wants to stop dragging before I am ready to stop, which would result in an over-cropped image if I clicked "OK." 2.) When making minor rotations to straighten images, older versions of paint.net let me see (in real time) the degree of rotation before I clicked "OK." Now that I cannot see the image, rotating is guesswork. This reminds me of the early 2010s, when Microsoft replaced classic Microsoft toolbars with the "ribbon," which I partially adjusted to years ago but will never like. Why take a function that was previously simple and accessible, and make it difficult? This is NOT a rhetorical question! Thank you.

I'm glad you got it sorted @rbersan Which TrustView are you referring to? There appear to be several apps in existence with that name.
