Re-Downloading Troubles

Recommended Posts

Sorry if this is in the wrong topic forum. Here's my problem:

I put a file in Paint.net and now Paint.net stopped working. I tried to download it again. And it didn't work. It said a new version has already been installed. I tried deleting everything, and the same thing happened.

Wrong forum. The one you want is Troubleshooting & Bug Reports. Don't worry about it this time, though. A mod will move it shortly. Or lock this one and ask you to repost in that forum (which is a rather silly thing to do...).

Anyway, what do you mean by 'put a file in'? Did you open an image file, or install a plugin, or just randomly decide that the Paint.NET folder was the place to store your resume?

Didn't work how. Your not giving us enough information on your errors. If you can we need to know how it did not install, error messages, your specs, what you were doing, version numbers, ect...

Can't fix something with out knowing what wrong with it.

The only thing we can do is take guess at what stops Paint.NET from installing. No .NET Framework, It already installed, was not uninstall but deleted, another program is killing it, Specs are no good for it, .... and the list goes on. This is why you need to give as much detail on your errors as you can.

Should have that posted somewere in here telling people to give as much detail as they can and pined it.

I just checked the details and it said the following:

See the end of this message for details on invoking

just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************

To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this

application or computer (machine.config) must have the

jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.

The application must also be compiled with debugging

enabled.

For example:

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception

will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer

rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Do you have the .NET Framework 2.0 installed?

You mean .NET 3.5?

No. .NET 2.0 is all that's required. (http://www.getpaint.net/download.html) 3.5 will be required for v4.0.

Sabrown. PLEASE know what you're talking about before you comment!

The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.
Amy: But how did it end up in there?
The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.
River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.
