I think it will eventually become the go-to program for beginning digital artists and a good side tool for the pro's. It has so many good features that make it stand out from photoshop, plus its free.

I think that it will have a great furure! I can remember a freeware in the DOS days called PaintShop this is now a big commercial success.

Let's not get all morbid! Rick's planning is so complete that I'm sure he has a succession plan in place should anything terrible happen.

This is not really something that the user base need worry about.
