Where did you get to Ninja?

I was in Israel for 2 weeks!!! So much fun! (Despite the desperate Israeli gals lol)

They asked me my name, age, and if I had a girlfriend. When I said no, they said "if you're so beautiful why don't you got one?"

We took pics together, and they said "bye", "find me on Facebook", and "I'm single" about 10 times before we got on the tour bus.

Haggling with the shop keepers there was great too. They're calling you friend before you even look in there shop!

I forgot. We listened to this 5 times in Israel on the tour bus.

Ya'alili with Lyrics

This is an Israeli song by Eig8th Day!

Ya’Alili is gibberish which sort of fuses Ashkenazi and Sepharadi cultures.

Here’s a translation

Ya’alili, dance my beloved

“It should be fortunate, may it be, ” (Sephardi expression)

“G-d willing, it will be” (Ashkenazi expression)

“The bridegroom,” [this expression is] Sephardi

“the attractive bride,” [this expression is] Ashkenazi

“Rachel Imeinu [our mother]” [this depiction of Rachel is] Sephardi,

“Mama Rachel,” [this depiction of Rachel is] Ashkenazi

“Baba Salli [a famous rabbi]” [he is] Sephardi,

“Rabbi Nachman,” [he is] Ashkenazi

It should be fortunate, may it be,

G-d willing, it will be

Ya’alili, dance my beloved

“Gina Gina,” [this expression is] Sephardi

“may we hear more,” [this expression is] Ashkenazi

“Yosi, Avi (Piamenta),” [they are] Sephardi

“the Eighth day,” [this song band is] Ashkenazi

“days for joy,” [this expression is] Sephardi,

“have a good yom tov,” [this expression is] Ashkenazi

It should be fortunate, may it be,

G-d willing, it will be

Transliteration

Ya’alili tantz chavivi

Sh’te’hey l’mazal sh’te’hey, im yirtze Hashem by dir sh’te’hey

Es hechoson Sefardi, kaloh noeh Ashkenazi

Rochel imeinu, hu Sefardi, mame Rochel Ashkenazi

Babba Sali, hu Sefardi, Rabbi Nachman Ashkenazi

Sh’te’hey l’mazal, hu Sefardi, im yirtze Hashem by dir Ashkenazi

Ya’alili tantz chavivi

Gina gina Sefardi, od yishoma Ashkenazi

Yosi Avi Sefardi, Yom Hashmini Ashkenazi

Moadim l’simcha Sefardi, a gut Yom Tov Ashkenazi

Sh’te’hey l’mazal Sefardi, im yirtze Hashem by dir Ashkenazi

NinjaMan, I'm happy to hear it all went well. By the way, my sister kept singing me this song for about a week and kept telling me to listen to it. It's really nice.

... does that mean we am boring?

Hardly! With grammar mangling fun like this, how could the rest of us trolling here not be considered fun?! (Though to be fair, I now think of Borg quotes since that can be used that way ...)

Welcome back mate. Even if some of us are not so fun to play with. Glad you managed to return from that part of the world unscathed.

Note to self: do not, no never, type while you are talking to someone else! Appalling from a teacher! Grammar mangling - I like that :D

Thanks, it brings me joy to know I liven up your lives.

But seriously I didn't think it would be boring without me! I mean come on! I got the "try hard to make people laugh but fail completely" award! (which i didn't quite get since I don't really try to get laughs from anyone)

Plus I don't give nearly as much or as detailed input on the forum as most of you guys!

I think i should be saying that about you people.
