Say if i wanted to put something and make the background go inside it how would i do that?

How would i get the white bits to be the same as behind it?

You could use the Magic Wand on the white while holding down the Shift key.

Then press Delete on the keyboard.

That's assuming that the black-and-white part is on its own layer.

No so you can see the background inside of that square.

You now how Paint has it's transparency button.

Where is Paint.net's?

Paint.NET doesn't have the Draw Opaque function that MS Paint has.

It isn't needed because Paint.NET has layers.

On the black-and-white layer, press F4, and set the Blend mode to Multiply.

How do i get the inside of the box to be able to see through?

If you do have the box on its own layer,

click inside the box with the Magic Wand,

(without holding down the Shift key)

then press Delete.

The white inside the box will disappear.

The black box and the white outside of the box will remain.
