kenexcelon
Any plans to develop using the new framework when available as a final release? Thanks. It would be interesting to see any new apps that use the new framework considering office style menus are built in as well as a lot of other interesting features. Rick Brewster
The current plan is to release Paint.NET v2.2 using .NET Framework v1.1 and to then do a (hopefully) quick feature-parity port to .NET Framework v2.0. This will mostly be done so that we can have a 64-bit "native" version of Paint.NET. After that, the plan is to migrate the UI to use the enhancements added in .NET 2.0. This "version 3.0" of Paint.NET should be available sometime in 2006, and should have numerous other feature additions and enhancements. kenexcelon
Hopefully I'll still be in school and I can at least play around with Visual Studio 2005 for free for a while.
Damic
There's a .NET alternative http://www.icsharpcode.net/OpenSource/SD/Default.aspx it does what VB.net and so does so
Rick Brewster
Or just wait for the v2.6 release We've got it migrated and ported and upgraded already, things are looking nice. We've also made a few other changes for the better. Rick Brewster
Why would you want to use it in an ASP.NET app? dvadim13
Hello. I tried to open the project with VS 2005 and it converted the project to VS 2005. Now, when I tried to compile the project, it gave me 21 errors. I am wondering if someone succeeded to compile it and run it with VS 2005. Thanks, Vadim. Mangix
you should wait till Rick releases the final version of 2.6 because that one is already converted to work with VS 2005
