how do I rotate a selection

erik

Recommended Posts

This is my first post. I've used Paint.net for several months at a begginners level. My understanding is at a very elementary level.

I can select the pixels I want to rotate (with the rectrangular select tool, or with the lasso select tool)

I can rotate the selected pixels (hold down the right click key and move the mouse).

But I am totally flummoxed trying to figure out how to "fix" the rotated pixels in place. Do I left click? Right click?

Double click? Hit the enter key? (I've tried them all - obviously I'm missing something simple).

Thanks to anyone who can help.

Erik

It appears Ctrl D causes the operation to be aborted. What I'm trying to do is move the object, get it just in the right place, and the click something to make it permanent.

In other words - how do I complete the "Move" operation?

Or - what is the last step in moving a selection?

Thanks.

Yes - thank you for being patient with me.

I totally screwed up (even as I thought carefully about the distinction) between moving the selection and moving selected pixels.

I am guilty.

I shall forever be embarrased.

But I still like paint.net - even as a rank beginner.
