Illnab1024
Haha, your funny Chris, seriously she does, and yes, ZoomBlur is definatly one of the best burs so far, i'am just ammused on how easy it is to make simple "ribbons" Other than gaussian blur - that one is perhaps the most useful. Rick Brewster
Just another screenshot. Paint.NET v3.0 will start making use of what are known as "task dialogs" and "command links." Basically instead of having simple, horrible dialogs that ask complicated questions while being limited to OK/Cancel or Yes/No/Cancel responses, we have these larger buttons with more descriptive text. In this screenshot the mouse pointer is hovering over the 'save' button (aka command link, but the mouse pointer is not in the screenshot): Edit: Yeah yeah there's a typo, thanks aatwo 8) (Once again, that's a bunch of art from http://larenn.deviantart.com) Oh, and this, some options for the color picker. RaveN
What is the Fill thing, can you set it to fill textures you pick? Kinda like photo flood fill?
Rick Brewster
"Fill" is exactly the same as "Fill style" was in 2.xx. I just dropped the word "style". BoltBait
Rick has already stated that he has stopped working on the 2.x line in order to focus on 3.0 Quote Download: BoltBait's Plugin Pack | CodeLab | and a Free Computer Dominos Game
Picc84
O! so than the 2.x line is done with? no more? or will he start back up after some of 3.0 line is done?
BoltBait
2.x is done. Once 3.0 is out, you won't want to go backward! Quote Download: BoltBait's Plugin Pack | CodeLab | and a Free Computer Dominos Game
Picc84
Well true... i was just saying maby he was going to update 2.x fast, to kinda, gradually get into 3.0? but i guess not haha... so anyone with out access to 3.0 only will be more anxious(sp?) for 3.0 haha
BoltBait
Look for the public beta sometime before the end of this year. Quote Download: BoltBait's Plugin Pack | CodeLab | and a Free Computer Dominos Game

Rick Brewster
Go back a page or two ... I've discussed 3.0's feature set and posted screenshots. Rick Brewster
Another quick sneak peak at 3.0. This feature is addressing two major issues that I receive enough e-mail about to cause me to do this: 1) People ask to be able to change the tool that is active at startup. Many people are used to having a selection tool active for whatever reason. 2) I get a lot of e-mail from people asking why the magic wand and/or paint bucket tools are "broken". Either it fills/selects everything, or nothing. The reason is that they have accidentally set their Tolerance to 0% or 100%, and this setting is remembered when you quit (it is "sticky"). Also, many people accidentally click the alpha blending and/or antialiasing buttons and ask why there is such terrible quality drawing. So, to address (1), you can choose what the startup tool is now. To address (2), none of the toolbar settings are "sticky." However you can now specify what their defaults should be: Quote The Paint.NET Blog: https://blog.getpaint.net/ Donations are always appreciated! https://www.getpaint.net/donate.html
RaveN
I don't get that problem with the tool, I basically do most of my stuff with keyboard, only use mouse when I am drawing, coloring, and making selections really, that and getting to effects(sometimes). How about being able to change the shortcuts?
Illnab1024
'At's diff'rent, man! It would be difficult and useless at the moment, IMHO. Quote ~~
RaveN
it isn't really necessary, but when I was first juggling between Photoshop and Paint.NET, I would get mixed up as to which program I was in, for instance I am used to Ctrl+Shift+X to make it black and white, and that is the liquify tool in photoshop, so I would get confused. And I don't really like the selection tools how they are just all S - S for elipse and rectangle - L for lasso - W for wand. And a shortcut for changing brush sizes if possible. Just little things, not very important, just aesthetic to me, maybe some others here too.
Illnab1024
Ctrl Shift G, not Ctrl Shift X I see what you mean, but I don't think it's practical right now. Quote ~~
RaveN
Then what does Ctrl Shift X do? I cannot remember. Will the MDI allow you to drag in images in your "bay" into another and place it on another layer?
Illnab1024
1. Crop to Selection ( I use it often...) 2. No but good idea. Quote ~~
RaveN
Yeah, I remember using that command a lot.
mickiscoole
Rick, i notice that in the new pictures of 3.0 there is an extra tool, a hand tool. what does it do? and plans for implementation of other tools? ( I won't say what ones i'm thinking of, in case i start sounding like george.)
SearedIce
It's a panning hand. If it's active, it's the same as if you were holding down Spacebar in previous releases...good for when you're zoomed in on something.
