Hey all,

I am really new to graphics editing, especially to Paint.NET!

I've already made some simple pictures, but there are some simple things I cant seem to redo.

Here are the two pictures I'm talking about:

1.) http://i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss22 ... ckkool.png

How to do the background and the exposion effect of the text?

2.) http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/1163/68243759.png

How to create the splashs in the lower right corner?

Thanks in advance, and sorry if I broke any rules. If so, please tell what I did wrong ;)

Take a screenshot of a window like the ones you see on the picture, then paste :Paste: them into Paint.NET.

Duplicate :EditCopy: the layer and go to the first layer ("Background"). Go to Layer -> Mirror vertical :Vertical:

Go back to your duplicated layer (The one which isn't mirrored vertically)

Open Rotate/Zoom :RotateZoom: (Ctrl+Shift+Z) and play around with the globe in upper left corner till it looks the way you want it. Press OK.

Go to your vertical mirrored layer and open Rotate/Zoom :RotateZoom: and press OK.

Now Use the gradient tool :GradientTool: and make sure that the alpha channel option :AlphaChannel: is set. Now make a gradient from the start of your vertical mirrored window and to about the half way down.

Image -> Flatten and you have your final result :)
