Thank you, pipp92

I can see where this might be difficult for you. These tutorials were made solely with Paint.Net in mind. Please understand, that this is the best I can do with the options I have.

I was hoping the rules “Tutorials must have screenshots in almost every case

could apply here.

Am I missing something here? Under Effects, my only options are: Artistic; Blurs; Distort; Noise; Photo; Render; Stylize.

Threshold, Colors and Objects, Feather etc. are not there, and I do not find them under any sub-menu or even in another heading such as Adjustments. I have Paint.net v3.36. I'm new to this, so forgive me if I'm overlooking something!

Thanks!

No, sorry. You need to include them inline or just link to the tutorial. The current way could be confusing.

You're not missing anything. :-) Those are plugins, and can be found using http://searchpaint.net . :-)

EDIT: Which reminds me; Tabou, you'll probably want to include links to the plugins you use in your tutorial.

You could consider me a "Beginner", and im always trying to figure out how to select a backround,

so this tutorial was really helpful! Thanks!

Me too. This tutorial is not very helpful for me though, I like the other ways to delete backgrounds, No offense it confuses me.

This tutorial doesn't seem to work with my picture, it's a tricky one and has many similar background items (indoor lights and ceiling).

From the tutorial task no.2 I opened the threshold filter and couldn't find any combination that resulted in my image clearly showing black and white area, there is always a part of the background attached to it.

Anyone interested on helping on this or should I open a new thread?

You might find this method more helpful:

Thanks for help, I still haven't tried no time right now, but I think my image has more details than a car?

I need to extract the foreground and save as it is without background showing at all, background must be transparent.

Here is the picture and if you advice that the youtube tutorial is what I'm looking after, then I will play with it: http://imageshack.us...3/rimg0096n.jpg

Thanks in advance.

Thanks everyone for trying to help me.

The video posted on Youtube at this address

seems too complicated for me also it plays too fast, I tried to follow it but then I got lost.

Instead I found this very simple tutorial on http://www.lautre-mo.../#comment-21754 which even a kid can follow and so I finally and successfully extracted my image from its background.

It just worked at the first attempt and the result seems too good to my knowledge.

This is the final result http://imageshack.us...402/bestrj.png

Please add any of your opinion/suggestion.

Tabou hasn't been online since 2009.  He isn't likely to respond.

I'll go ahead and lock it since it's nothing but a dead link.  I'll be happy to unlock it if Tabou comes back.
