Conquest
First, this is an awesome tutorial, it would be even more awesome if I could get through all the steps. I've been messing with it for about a week but keep getting stuck at step 12. I know I'm missing something basic because I've poured through the thread a dozen times and nobody seems to have trouble with it. How do you get from "make a small (white) line over an edge of your logo/text" to this: Like I said, I'm sure I'm missing something simple. I like what I've gotten so far, but it seems unfinished and I really want to complete it so any help you guys could give me would be appreciated. Sarkut
You'll be using the Line/Curve tool to make the line. The line won't actually be red, it's just shown as red in the tutorial to make its size and position show clearly. The information about the angle will show in the status bar at the bottom of the Paint.NET window, not in a little box at the bottom of the canvas as shown. It will only show as you are drawing the line, once you let the mouse button up, the angle info disappears.

I didn't realize the pic I was looking at was a zoomed in version of the logo Jake made. It took a good nights sleep to figure out what I was looking at. So here's what I've got so far, I'm going to keep working on it, still messing around with the shiny's... great tutorial. BTW, Jake... your photos on your flicker page are awesome and I'm now studying strobist: lighting 101. Time to dust off my Nikon.
Conquest
Here's the final result. I didn't want to go too crazy on the glass effect so I limited it to one object... and this is pretty close to the actual size so the logo will be so small I didn't bother doing any "shinys". uvah
I'm a noob...bee (newbie) and this is my first go'round. It's a bit lame compared to what I'm seeing. I need more practice...lol How do I take the jaggies out of the letters without losing the motion blur? I tried feathering but it didn't work. uvah
After several fits and starts and crashing of PDN (twice), I think it had something to do with using the plug-ins too fast back to back, I finally came up with something. While not as good as others here it's better than my first one.

Goonfella
You could use Alpha Mask or there is also the AA plugin which does a very good job - Â Â Please feel free to visit my Gallery on PDNFans And my Alternatives to PDN

BboyBio16
Wow, this is a great tutorial! This works perfectly for creating cool Youtube logos. This is my first try with the tutorial. I like it myself, but I probably shouldn't have added the outline to the motion blur part of the logo. I probably should have also started out with a larger picture first and then resized to a smaller one when I was finished, but oh well. AGJM
Woah! I like Neon's style. Anyway, I'm new to the forums [not new to PDN, of course] and I figured I would post my result. It didn't come out as 3D as the tutorial, but hey, I like it! -Holy Cow Snip!- Tell me what you think! My name is Andrew MacGillivray... What a coincidence! Anyways, I'll try this tutorial sometime soon. Here is my go at it: Edited October 26, 2011 by AGJM 1 The hardest part of ending is starting again.
