JohnSeiffer
I just started using Paint.net and I love it. I've been using an old version of Macromedia Fireworks 4 - but can't install it on my new computer. ANYWAY the old PNG files I made do not have layers in Paint.net but they do in Fireworks. In Paint.net the image comes in fine, but only on the background layer. Any suggestions?
Eli
You may want to try Photoshop PSD file plugin for Paint.net. Edited January 8, 2017 by Eli
Ego Eram Reputo
The format used by Fireworks to create layered PNGs is not supported by paint.net. You could try opening them with IrfanView. That might give you the option of saving them as layered *.PSD which the plugin Eli linked to will open. Edit: it looks like the format used is APNG. Paint.net has a file type plugin for that format. Check out the plugin index (link in my signature).
