Many thanks Rick. This update is awesome.

I think Overscroll is going to be a big hit!

Just downloaded the latest version. Overscroll is brill and a big improvement. No more having to move/turn off the UI windows to get a better view of the image. Great stuff, thanks Rick. :)

This was an issue with PDN Beta 4.10.6022.820 which was supposed to be fixed at 4.10.6023.39477.

You might have to go to the Effects folder, right click at your individual plugin DLL's, go to Properties and Unblock them then click OK. Do this to your DLLs and your plugins should appear next time you open PDN. However, if the DLLs were copied from another computer, you need to "Take Ownership" of those DLLs, otherwise unblocking them would not be persistent. This happened to me.

I love this program and have been using it for several years. Thanks for that.

On the latest update, when I zoom in on the image, rather than being centered, the thing I was trying to look at is away in a corner somewhere. I have to scroll to get to it again. Is there a way to make it work as it did in previous versions?

That seems to be the new overscroll feature zooming to wherever the cursor is pointed, not the center of the screen. But I agree that it could use some tuning. I've noticed that, for example, zooming out on a small image with Ctrl-0 tends to stick the image off in a corner, or even partly off-screen. It's also easy now to accidentally scroll the image halfway off-screen by getting too close to the edge with tools like Rectangle Select or Eraser.

Oh man, I didn't know I needed overscroll until I tried it just now!

Thanks for the great work :)

Thank you Rick for the Overscroll feature! :)

As dance39 pointed out it might need some tuning to be perfect. Ctrl-0 should center the image, as should Resizing the image.

Ctrl+0 maintains the same pixel coordinate underneath the mouse cursor. I find it's more useful this way, and more intuitive once you realize this is what's going on.

Been using Paint.NET for many years now and loving it. With the latest update, I seem to have the same problem as some other people in this thread: when zooming out or into a picture that doesn't fill up the entire screen, the picture will always shoot off into a corner instead of staying reasonably centered.

I fail to see how that's a problem. Why does the canvas need to stay centered?

The current behavior seems more reasonable and expected; it uses the position of the cursor for zooming.

Also keep in mind you can use Ctrl+B to toggle zoom to window.

(September 25th, 2023)  Sorry about any broken images in my posts. I am aware of the issue.

But it doesn't use the position of the cursor for zooming. No matter where I click, the picture will jump into a corner. This is when I use the zoom tool, by the way. When I hold down ctrl it zooms into and away from the cursor as expected.

The built-in updater doesn't seem to detect the new version for me. Here's the HTTP request and response I captured via Fiddler:

tommy, Hmm. Looks like some of the update manifests didn't land on the site. I'm reuploading now -- should work within the hour. Thanks!!

Okay I've confirmed that the Zoom tool is busted, and I've filed a bug for the next update. Thanks!

Thanks, Rick !

Paint.NET is the must in my FLOSS workflow... Even though Windows is no longer my primary OS.

Hopefully, there're a way to run Paint.NET 4.X in Linux in the future...

Very minor issue: When first opening Paint.NET the scroll bars don't appear, so it's not possible to over-scroll until a zoom action is performed. :)
