  1. I subscribe to the magazine Smart Computing. A nd they send out an email full of interesting little tid bits of info. And Sat April 16 2011 they sent out the following :Tip: Paint.net If you’ve ever wanted more options out of your graphics program than, say, Microsoft Paint has to offer, look no further than Paint.net. It’s a powerful bit of freeware that has too many features to mention, but rest assured it can open a variety of graphics formats. Then you can do any number things—add effects, crop, add text, and more—that you would want to do with your graphics.
  2. Thank you very much Sarkut. Does any body know if PdN 3.5.8. allows to creat a collage ? tom_in_toronto
  3. I am not afraid to admit it - I am a techno-klutz. I have, ever since I joined, wanted to take one part of an image and paste it into something I'm creating. When I read the Cutting Out Images tutorial by Simon Brown I thought the quandry I've been in for years was over. But I find the tutorial is not Windows 7 friendly. When ever I press Ctrl-I to invert an image, as mentioned in the tutorial, I get a list of my favorites. Is there an alternative for this direction. I've hot a monitor screen with a 1600 x 900 pixel resolution, and I'm trying to make wallpaper for it.
  4. Here it is...my first attempt. The neck is bit screwy, and some spots I just couldn't erase without making the whole thing look real bad. It had a black metalic grill behind it which made it a real challenge. Thanks to all who contributed to my very first attempt using Paint.Net
  5. Wel...here is the finished product. Having Parkinsons, or The Shakes as I prefer to call it, makes clearing the background a real challenge. I'm also a guitar fan - playing them, collecting them, etc.
  6. Thanks everybody. I'm still using 2.72 - I'm a little reluctant to use a beta product - got burned testing out a beta product before, so I'd rather wait for the finished update. But I have the tolerance thing figured out now thanks to you. So thank you, and have a safe and Happy New Year.
  7. What in your post FF is not in ver. 2.72. Sorry, but I'm still stuck.
  8. I think my best bet is to use the magic wand. I've tried it on a number of very disposable images the last few days with varying degrees of sucess. But I can't figure out how to adjust the magic wand. Can anyone tell me ?
  9. Thanks for all your suggestions. I'll give thne magic wand a whirl. Right now I want to maintain my indepedence as much as I can, so thanks for the offer BarkBark00
  10. Here's the problem. I'm trying to cut out the background of an image. I have a tutorial suggesting to do it manually or using the eraser. I've got a mild case of Parkinsons and cutting by hand is getting so that it takes very, very long or in some cases I can't erase the background at all. Is there a filter I can use to make things a bit easier ?
