When I work & work to erase all of the background away from an image leaving just the image itself, it won't save that way. When I open it up again, I have to erase the background all over again. Is there a way to save the image with the erased background so that I don't have to erase it over & over again?

I'm not good with layers. Thanks everyone, will tackle again with layers.

Is there some way to make a collage of 5 images in a row without using layers? Thanks!

I downloaded AA's Assistant yesterday & obviously am not doing it right because no matter what I set it on, nothing changes. Am I supposed to add a new layer first? link to thread

Okay thanks. Maybe it isn't the plugin I need for my problem. I erased all around an image but it's jaggedy in places where I didn't get close enough or something & I wanted to smooth that out somehow.

I must be doing something wrong. I downloaded Alias & have tried to use it to smooth the rougher edges of my image but it isn't doing anything. ??? Am I supposed to add a new layer or what? Thanks,

Thanks. Now I can't figure out how to show the screen shot on here. Yes, it is all images, not just on paint. I just got this computer & not used to it & hadn't noticed that all of my images are those generic thumbnails.

My problem with images is that the thumbnails are just those generic things. I think mine are mountains. Anyhow not seeing the actual thumbnail of my images which makes it difficult to edit as I have to guess which is which. I posted this somewhere else but think since it's image related I was supposed to post here. Any ideas, advice or suggestions appreciated. Thanks! Just saw that someone is helping me on the other discussion board. )

Hello everyone. I'm so glad to have found Paint.net as I recently switched to Vista & my Adobe Photodeluxe won't work right with it. This does everything I need to do. The problem is that when I open a file, it just shows little generic thumbnails instead of the actual image. Anybody have an idea what that's about? I'd like to be able to see the images as thumbnails. Thanks!
