  2. My first all 100% PDN artwork for a while. First PDN forum entry of mine this year. I'm more of a peanuts and cashews guy, have not touched a wallnut in several years since that doesn't grow here. Here's my experimental but I think it was OK for a first attempt.

  3. This is my succeeding attempt with the wallnut which is basically one of the 3 wallnuts on the first image that I tried to enhance though I must say, its now starting to resemble our local cacao pod.

  4. I'm still thinking about tile rotation. It should be *relatively* simple. I'm thinking something like the PgUp/PgDn keys would rotate the active tile by 90 degrees clockwise or anticlockwise per key press. Canvas: Ugh. That's not nice. I covered every case I could think of when laying out the UI. It seems the layout is not pixel perfect as I assumed. There appears to be some scaling going on as well. Until I code a fix, does enlarging the UI make the buttons visible? @Seerose, @Pixey & @lynxster4 Thank you for your images!

  8. Some of those realistic creations are fantastic, and I'm trying to figure out how you created some of them. Great job!

  9. rtz is an rtf file that has been compressed. CodeLab compresses the help files to save space. You can use the following utility to compress your rtf file for embedding: CompressV2.zip (This was written by me. It compresses the help file the same way CodeLab does. It can also uncompress a file.) BTW, I don't want any bug reports on this utility. I wrote it for my own use and am sharing it now because I'm such a nice guy.

  10. Perhaps I don't understand what's going on, but in my VS projects, the help menu file always takes a name like Properties.Resources.Help, where the resource in the project is called Help. Likewise, the icon is Properties.Resources.Icon. They're defined (automatically by VS) in Properties>Resources.Designer.cs in code like, internal static string Help { get { return ResourceManager.GetString("Help", resourceCulture); }

  11. Sorry, I misread your post. Perhaps the Namespace is not correct? Is the Default Namespace in your Project set to "Test01Effect"? And is your file named "Test01.rtz"? EDIT: Here's a screenshot, if that helps:

  13. Nice work MJW! I did a little comparison experiment. So, it alters the way Texture Shader will 'color' the sphere because you've altered the height map. Some interesting effects can be achieved with this. Here is a simple example: Thank you MJW!

  14. Thank you Maximilian. Few minutes after I started, I was starting to feel it may not work but pulled through it with rather more experimentation of how to texturize and distort the wallnut than with technique which I unfortunately lack. I do have a self-invented/discovered technique for making shadows though. The plugins, Cloud, Shape3D, Levels, Vibrance, Liquify, Smudge, Sharpen and Grain,did it for me. Luckily, "still life" is an art form I used to sketch way back in highschool.
