The Theme is: You are the magazine!

Explanation: (mostly Possum's words)

For this week's competition, Possum Roadkill has whipped up something very unique. You are the magazine.

Basically, you work at a big weekly magazine as the art editor. Your evil boss (Possum) forgot that you were on vacation (yeah right) and has decided that he wants you to design a new look for the cover of the magazine.

He wants you to create a new cover header this week for next week's issue, in fact, your job depends on it!

You must create the following:

1. A background.

3. A Title. Your name is the magazine, or part of your name. For example: Possum Roadkill becomes "Possum Weekly News", or "Roadkill du Jour," an epicurial magazine.

4. Issue date. Use a date from some time this week.

5. Issue price. The sky is the limit, but remember it has to sell.

6. A magazine slogan or mission statement. Ah yes, another creative aspect you have to deal with.

You must link to any photos or renders that you use. It'd be great if you share with us the name(s) of the fonts used. Sig dimensions as usual must not be larger than 500px wide by 200px high.

Reminders, you learned in school (wink) that the general design of a magazine cover needs to address the following:

1. Identify the personality of the magazine. Sports, news, food, games, etc, etc.....

2. Attract the target audience: those who vote for your sig in this competition.

3. Lure the reader into the magazine. It's got to be eye catching to attract votes.

4. Establish a visual identity (consistent use of format, be unique and creative).

To cut you some slack, here is a link to the top 40 magazine covers of the past 40 years.

Now quit slacking off around the watercooler and get back to work you darn hippie with your long hair and bell bottom jeans!

Colour themes are quite boring & rarely inspire any great works. Some people tend to slap on a render & a few tweaks - done.

Personally, I hope we get more challenging ones, like the one we just had. Good idea, Possum! It was a great theme.
