Hey guys.

This is my first post on these forums. so i thought it would be good if i was to show off a peice of my work.

BlueandRed.jpg

^^^ :) ^^^

I am very happy with that.

My steps on how to make it.

1. once you have a new canvas open you can start getting some of your favourite coulers at the ready. I used red first. Get a fairly thick paint brush and start doing swirls at your hearts desire, go through the middle a few times.

2. Go to Effects>Distort>Swirl and set it over the middle of the circle.

Repeat steps 1 and 2 if you like, i did it twice.

3. make a new layer and select a colour the same as one of the swirls, select a gradient of your choice and fill just under half the page.

set tranceperancy to your liking and repeat with another colour.

now just merge them and you can go on from there.

I like it, especially the way it seems to recoil from its most twisted point! :D

EDIT: @barkbark,I love them, so clean and simple, yet visually interesting! 8)

Actually, Blooper used the Noise and Median technique in his How to Make Grunge Brushes community tutorial. It reminds me of the plasma effect from GIMP (I think).

Call me expired. Please.

That's actually how I thought of it. Read a ton of tutorials for making brushes, found that plasma and contrast one, and I used that method.

@Janettsue--Cool :) Makes me think "confetti twist" XD

Anyway I made some abstracts. The first two are two different versions, but use the same theme. I call them "Rainbow Road" ver. 1 and 2 (Kinda like the Rainbow Road from Super Mario Kart series):

^I like this one^

Then I made a "round" something using InsideOut:

WorldNewser, you're great at abstract pieces. I really like those two, because they have a rather definite shape--I don't like formless abstract pieces.

Here's something that started as a bunch of random scribbles in different colors, and ended up as a test piece for almost all of the new plugins that I picked up today:
