Image Umbrella: Image Modification/Manipulation
Post your devious photographic fakes here!

Things to keep in mind:
- Please post links to your source images here; that way we'll be able to see how 1337 you really are.
- Try not to post your image right after another user's. Allow some time for people to reply (or give an opinion yourself!)
- Utilize constructive criticism. Being mean is not welcome or tolerated.
- Try for criticism that's more helpful than "looks good" - say why. Say what works, say what can be improved. It'll make everyone's skills better (including yours)!
- By the same token, keep the rules in mind. They will be enforced here just as much as anywhere else.
- It bears special mention that nothing hateful, pornographic, or otherwise rulebreaking will be tolerated.

Now, go change the world!

I was having a hard time imagining how some of the actors that have been cast to play well established roles in the forthcoming Star Trek movie (unfortunately not due until May 2009) might look, so tried my hand at a bit of photomanipulation; let me know what you think.

Simon Pegg as Lt. Commander Montgomery Scott

John Cho as Lieutenant Hikaru Sulu

Ha ha ha ha! That's really good! I'm a Star Trek fan myself, the movies are great. I'm not sure I liked the one of Scotty, I've come to look forward to his old, rather large, self.

this is an old one that I tried when I saw a gif of a 2 legged horse running [the horse was photoshopped so it looked good]

It is a PdN work, he is just entering it into a Photoshop competition.

Wouldn't a Photoshop competition be limited to work created in Photoshop?

Wow! Is that 100% PDN? If it is thats awesome!

If it isn't, its still much better than anything I could do.

@sabrown 100 & Mike Ryan: for image manipulation, I use Paint.NET exclusively... Photoshop Contest is just a Image Manipulation competition site that I came across many years ago through Fark.com... Having a set image to manipulate can help with creativity when you've got "imager's block" ... I try to encourage my students to do stuff like that to take their work "out of the classroom" and (kinda) "into the world".

I haven't played with Photoshop since I discovered Paint.NET (around 3 years ago). It is far simpler for student's to "grasp", but lends itself to more advanced application should students be interested enough.

That's gorgeous! How did you do that? ( the soft-creamy look of the sky remind me a bit of an Oma's painting .

Only wouldn't be better if you put the before and after pictures side by side so we do not have to jump from an image into an-other?

Ciao
