Then Gaussian blur it 10-15 pixels, and change the opacity of the layer down until it looks correct (probably to about 100 or so). Hope this helps. I use gradients and distorts I don't think adding noise would work, but you can try. In you case, a white shirt, just use light gray color gradients should work fine.
