My Wifi (and sometimes my USB controller) doesn't work when I upgrade to Win10.  Had to roll back to 7.  :(

You know when you have this picture in your head and trying to replicate it on PDN?

So I am making an image and it contains a fairly simple shape, a cube.

So, my progress...

Create the background - Done.

Create smaller details - Done.

Create this extremely basic shape - ehh...

I'm staring at this cube next to me trying to replicate it whilst thinking, "What...are...you?!". This went on for a good 20 minutes - trying combinations of Shape3D, actually using angles and mathematics and such, before I noticed I had installed a shapes pack. And inside the shapes pack is a cube all made up for me already.

There might have been some swearing at this point.

BUT IN THE END, I GOT IT.

Never had any issues like that in Win10, but I really hated that it would constantly upgrade without my consent. That's what annoyed me the most about Win10. I pretty much use Linux 99% of the time these days and am much happier because of it.

Set your network connection to "metered."  That makes all upgrades manual.  Easy-peasy.

I didn't know about that setting. I just restored my Win10 image on my laptop to try it out. Hopefully no more Windows updates...

Ugh! Fighting with JavaScript on IE all day.

There are some things that it simply won't do. Damn it!

Took a break from that to help my daughter with her C++ homework...

More frustration. Spent 3 hours researching/fixing bugs in her code and it still doesn't work. I just don't know enough about C++ to help her this time. If only she was in a C# class... :D

Not a good day, code wise. But, I did make a Tri-Tip for Easter dinner that turned out pretty well.

You're one heck of a risk-taker.  Yeesh.  I wouldn't dare to risk that.

Screw Windows.......go with Linux instead.

I'm currently spending 99% of my time in Linux and looking to go 100% very soon.

Meh. I have Ubuntu on the other partition of the computer I'm typing on right now, and I never boot into it. Like, ever. I think the last time was ten or eleven months ago. I think Linux is a fine OS, but since Windows already does everything I want it to anyway, why bother switching?

The opposite for me. I have Win10 on another partition that I rarely use any more. I like Linux for the following reasons.

1) It's free and very versatile.

2) More secure than Windows.

3) More stable than Windows.

To each their own. Using XP online is asking for trouble.

Yer! Thankfully it is a short drive to work for me & usually it only takes one change of traffic lights to get through. Like 10 mins. During this time I see so many drivers doing the head-bob when they are stopped at traffic lights.

"Something needs to be done about the timing of the traffic lights!" was the cry in a recent pre-election poll. Random breath tests & speed cameras are just revenue-raising...If the police wanted to do that they could just sit at the lights. I think the fine is about $385 (AU) Probably 10 people at the 6 traffic lights I have to go through. Over $23,000 There are lots more lights that 6 :D

There must be millions of drivers worldwide who shouldn't be in charge of hunks of metal killing machines - and then there's the inadequacies of the courts to deal with them

(but I won't rant at that one )

But daytime TV.

Not sure if I don't need pain killers because it numbs the brain or to take them to get through some of the dross that's on.

I'll die a happy man if I see someone spark out Jeremy Kyle.  We can all be big hiding behind Security

When I got out of the car last night, the seatbelt prevented the door from closing fully... dome light was on all night... dead battery this morning...

All I have is a trickle charger... waiting... waiting...

Why doesn't the car automatically prevent this sort of thing? Do we lack the technology?
