How to make a triangle selection?

Recommended Posts

I'm quite new to paint.net but I know the basics yet I cant make a selection of material in a right triangle shape.

For example lets say i had a picture but I wanted to select a piece of that picture but in a triangle and be able to move it;

How would I do that, if possible?

( imagine the red rectangle a triangle )

Oh, you mean like this?

1) Use the Rectangle Select ( :RectangleSelectTool:) tool to draw a selection

2) Use the Move Selection ( :MoveSelectionTool:) tool to rotate the selection 45 degrees

3) Use the Rectangle Select ( :RectangleSelectTool:) on Subtraction mode to remove half of the selection

4) Use the Move Selection ( :MoveSelectionTool:) tool to rotate the selection -45 degrees

Subtraction mode can be enabled from the icons in the Tool Bar when the selection tool is active, or by using  Alt + Left Mouse Button.
