How to grey out "Automatically check for updates when paint.net starts"

Hi all,

 

How could I grey out the options "automatically check for updates when paint.net starts" and "also check for pre-release (beta) versions of paint.net"?

 

The Reg Key values are 0 (meaning they are disabled); but I would like to grey out that option so a user would not be able to select it back.

Any help would be appreciated.

You cannot disable this for a specific user. You can set the system-wide default, but a user may always re-enable it.

 

If you want to prevent a user from installing updates then you'll have to ensure they don't have Administrator-level privileges.
