Grestorn
I'm quite new to Paint.NET and I'm still trying to find my way around it. So far I'm really impressed. One function I haven't been able to find is a way to mark an area and use a Cut, Copy or Move operation that works on multiple layers. Say I've checked 4 out of 6 layers. I mark an area. I want to move the contents of that area. The contents have to be moved on all 4 marked layers independently, i.e. I don't want the contents of these layers to be merged (what "Copy Merged" would accomplish), but I want the same marked area to be moved the same way simultaneously. Can that be done? And if yes, how? If not, that would be something that I really miss, since it seems to be most usefull to me. Thanks for any advice! Cc4FuzzyHuggles
I don't think you can do what you are wanting to do. There is something called layer/image sampling for some tools, but the tool you would want to use in order to move things around is the "Move Selected Pixels Tool" which doesn't have image sampling. However, as long as your objects that you want to move are placed onto their own layers, you might find these Object Align plugins useful. They do not move things simultaneously, but they can help you align each object exactly into the same positions.Align Object -- http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/4193-align-object-plugin-updated-06172007/Object Align is in this plugin pack -- http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/8375-drop-shadow-and-other-effects-krisvdms-plugin-pack-updated-2010-10-26/How to instal plugins? skullbonz
You could also use the Rotate/Zoom tool under the Layers tab to move one layer where you want and then just repeat for each other layer and they will move to the same settings. That's a good tip, thanks a lot!
Ego Eram Reputo
You can also do this with the Panelling plugin. Then you can then repeat the effect on another layer (with the same settings) using Ctrl + F.
