Transparency in images...

Recommended Posts

Alright, so I'm new here. I've started using Paint for a while now, and slowly learning the basics. Could someone explain, how to have Transparent images, keep the background of the image? Say, I have a nature background. I found an image of a transparent rainbow or something.. How would I paste that into the image - without having the transparency of the image cutting off the background?

Would it be something to do with layers?..

Thanks!

Yes bring it in as another layer. Once you have it on it's own layer you can move it around or change the size with the move selected pixels tool if you need to. To save the whole image you will have to merge the layers or flatten the image.
