I wrote my initials on a piece of paper and scanned it. Saved it as a .png image and now I'm trying to make the background transparent. I'm trying to figure it out from the various postings, but to no avail. Help!
I have a .png image and trying to make the background transparent.

Hi U15986 - welcome to the forum!
1. Select the magic wand tool
2. Click on the background with the Shift key held down (if the entire area is not selected adjust the Tolerance setting in the Tool Bar and select again).
3. Press delete. The background is deleted and replaced with a grey and white checkerboard pattern. This denotes transparency.

Thank you, Ego Eram Reputo, I have searched several sites looking for this information, and none of the advice was helpful. Your advice was perfect ... worked first time.
