Oops I really didn't pay attention to that tiny text in your sig, but I think it is a good idea to have your own gallery, you have some great ideas and work,
The result now is 7-1, and all it is up to you mate, but I think there are some people ( most of people ) will be interested to see your work in one spot here.

EDIT: sorry forgot to comment to the wallpaper, that really looks awesome, I thought it is simple, but actually it has a lot of details.

Thanks very much for the encouragement!
I've changed the topic title to sound a little less like a single image...(so you can probably guess what is coming)
I won't bother gathering up my old images at all, so everything will be fresh like the apple I just ate :D
I'll start organizing the gallery once I have a few more images...

I can't believe you hadn't had a gallery. Though your sig showed us what you can do and the way you're involved with answering questions on this forum. The photo of the flower is superb and the wallpaper is gorgeous. I love the colors!

Honestly? I never realised that you did not have a gallery. Oh dear! You are quite active on here & always create such great images & give such sound advice that I never noticed. I missed the part in your sig but then I have been a bit preoccupied with lots of drama in RL.

Of course, definitely you should have a gallery to put your awesomeness in one spot.

Agree with Welshy, I love the softness of the wallpaper & the shot of the flower is great with the focus the way it is. Soft & dreamy!

@Helen Thanks very much :D
@dug well...then you'll like the next image too!
@welsh The school project was to recreate/imitate a photo taken by a famous photographer, so no cool effects or colors :/
@barbie Apparently, you aren't alone there xD Thanks!

<added wallpaper>
It's a pair this time because I couldn't decide on the brightness. The strip going out to the left would probably be appropriate for some text, but I'll leave it blank for possible users ;)
By the way, if anyone wants a full-resolution (3200x2400) copy of any of my wallpapers here, just let me know. Photobucket loves to shrink down images...(I don't imagine anyone on this forum borrows wallpapers, though lol)

Fantastic work Your Newbiness :Redo:

I prefer the lighter of the 2 but the whole concept is stunning - as is the execution of said concept. If the Galleria was up and running this would be a worthy inclusion IMO ...

RE: @welsh The school project was to recreate/imitate a photo taken by a famous photographer, so no cool effects or colors

... I stand corrected :FloodModeGlobal:

Well, if I'd been around to see the poll, I would have said a resounding YES. I too can't believe you didn't have a Gallery before now as your work is fabulous. All the images you have up now are superb but the flower is really a knock-out ..... it looks like a photo, so well done!

That's because it IS a photo ;) There were lots of things to edit about the original photo, however (like the excessive reflection off the table to the left). Challenge accepted, anyhow. I'll see what I can do to recreate that from scratch...it may have to wait till my next break though :/

Anyone else think this gallery is lacking in color so far? I'll have to do something about that...<mumbles to self>

Nice line tool work ,I like both images.I prefer to have a dark image for my wallpaper it helps me see my icons better.Don't give up on B/W, do a colour version as well.Most of the work I do is in colour but I always run the desaturate plugin at the end just to see if it looks better as B/W.

I was really going for a clean and simple feel, but now that I think of it, a monochrome blue or green wouldn't look to bad...

<new avatar added>
EDIT: Blargh...I'm really getting annoyed now...I checked the size of the avatar images and it says 150x150 pixels...but it still shrank my avatar >.>

Thanks, Helen :)

<added another photo>
I found this cool noise removal program called "Neat Image" and it worked great! Instead of simply running a filter over the entire image (like the paint.net or photoshop reduce noise filters), it allows you to use a noise profile to remove only the noise while keeping the rest of the image intact.
Other than that, all the editing was done in pdn. Again, taken with a pocket camera, so the image quality isn't quite what I wished it to be, but you can probably imagine the scene yourself ;D

Anyone have any ideas on how to make it glossier and more translucent? I was going for a glass-like texture, but as you can see, it looks dull...and the corners are too sharp

In order for it to be glossier, you just need to add a highlight by using a white gradient. And you can try blurring the corners just a little bit to make it look softer.
